Software Updates
Here’s my experience with update 3.5.3. On Oct 19th I got the update 3.5.3 OTA, it said successfully, everything seemed to work great. Online and the app said I would be able to activate Alexa in a couple days, I waited a couple weeks and still no Alexa. I called the OTA customer service and they said that they were having problems with this update and to give it two more weeks. Couple weeks go by and still no Alexa, I called the OTA customer service again and they said that they had so many problems with 3.5.3 that they stopped the OTA for now while they try and workout all the bugs. They told me I could take it to a dealer and have them try to reinstall it, so I did, dealer said it failed the first time, the second time it installed successfully. A week goes by still no Alexa. At this point I decided to hook up FORscan to see if I could find anything, I did, in the apim Amazon Alexa was still disabled, I enabled it and within 5 hours I got an email and a notice in the Ford Pass app saying Alexa was ready, I went out to the truck and there it was, it works as it should now!
Can anyone speak about the updates eliminating the phantom battery drain. Mine is minor at this point but if the truck isn't driven much the interior lights won't come on for the first start in the morning. Thanks in advance.
You have a 2022, so you truck was built with BlueCruise already in it. If you are having issues, you may need to take it to the dealer for camera and sensor calibrations. I see you got 3.5.2 via an OTA on 9/16, so you are almost fully up to date. We are all waiting for Ford to start pushing out 3.5.3.
Come on Ford! Get this resolved, otherwise WTF bother offering it on your high end trucks.
The last power up OTA you were sent was 2.7.3 on 9/25 and that successfully installed. You then had a PCM update sent to you on 10/11, but it expired on 10/25 because the update was never initiated. This particular update requires that the vehicle be inhibited while it installs, which means you have to manually start the update. The good news is, you are getting updates. Even though you are behind, your truck is not stuck. The campaign Ford had going on for dealer to update the trucks to get bluecruise expired already, so good luck getting a dealership to do ity now. You just have to wait it out or invest the time and money into getting the tool you need to do it yourself like myself and many others have had to do.
I am curious to invest in the tools, do you have a good tutorial thread or a video worth watching that’ll give me a better idea on what I’m doing?
thanks again!
Can anyone please check my VIN? I just got my truck and am unable to update it. Please and thank you!
