Are you saying there are expiries on the offering of OTA updates? Some have had their truck off the road for other repairs long enough that it would add insult to injury to then miss out on small changes that make the truck better

Yes, once they push out an OTA update, if it does not go through after X amount of time, it eventually expires. However, it will be pushed out again eventually. Because it expires, it doesn't mean you're stuck without getting it forever; it just means you have to wait for it to be sent to your truck again and it delays the process more. In markmad3's case, the campaign coincidentally expired while the truck was at the dealership. Someone at the dealer pulled his OTA dashboard 7 minutes before I did, so they know it expired. It expired at 3:44pm and they checked it at 4:10pm. Unfortunately, markmad3's truck does not have the BlueCruise FSA programming on his VIN, so Ford will not pay them to update the truck. They aren't going to do anything about it.
My truck has been to the dealer for 2 weeks without any update improvement. Says stuck on 2.7.1. Would someone please run my VIN and see what comes back? I truly appreciate your help.
Just had 2.8.3 install while I was out getting gas. Not a Blue Cruise optioned truck. Beyond the cameras now being functional at speed are there other changes this update brings?

On your vehicle history, it says that back on June 13th through 15th, the dealer reprogrammed certain modules including the trailer module and that they test drove your truck and verified that Bluecruise is active. Since then, your OTA dashboard shows a few OTA updates have failed, which would make sense if you are already up to date. Are you saying you don't have Bluecruise on your truck? I can't see what software version you are running with PTS; I can only see what updates have installed or failed via OTA and I can see anything that was done at the dealer with FDRS. However, when the dealers perform the updates, it only says they updated this module or that module......it doesn't tell me what software you are running. According to the notes under your VIN, you've had BC for over a month now.

I do not have BlueCruise and the dealer said I’m the updated have failed every time. It’s quite the mess and the dealership is lost too. They haven’t received clear instructions from FORD on how to proceed. I have no idea where to go with this now.

Well, it is clearly stated in your vehicle history that they activated BC in your truck. Look a the highlighted text below. I don't know what to tell you.......very strange case indeed.
In my case, I am just going to wait and see if it comes through OTA. I doubt it, as I think something is broken in the process for my truck. I have the recall for BC programming on my truck and it expires September 30th. When September comes around, I am going to take it to a different dealer than I did the last time I tried to get it done, and this time, I will be adamant that they get my **** done. I've read the technical bulletin that details the instructions to dealers on how to do it. It seems like a long and tedious process, but nothing too difficult. Ford is paying dealers up to 8 hours in labor to update these trucks. It is BEYOND me how many dealership service departments are letting all this money just sit on the table.

first of all, thank you very much for your help. You’ve already given me more details than I received from the dealership. It is a very curious case. Do you know, or where I can find out, what update I’m currently on? I can’t even figure out that information conclusively.
it’s very odd, when I hit the cruise control button, the first thing I get is “BlueCruise On” notification but then truck never moves into hands free driving. I’ve tried in all three major highways in my area. It stays on the hands on wheel option the entire time.
I hope there isn’t something basic I’m missing. Do I need to register or have a service included? Is there a map package or something along those lines I’m missing. Thank you again

As far as I know, there is no way to see what version you're on. Even with FDRS, it will give you a list of any modules that need updating, but it won't tell you which Power Up update you are on. Maybe someone here who is actually a tech can verify that. In my case, when I check the software in my truck, it tells me I'm on 2.7.3, but I know for most, it only tells you your truck is "up to date" and doesn't tell you which version you have.
As far as helping you with the operation of BlueCruise itself, I can't provide much insight as I'm still a few updates away from getting it so I've never had a chance to mess with it. I know you need to have an active subscription for it to work, but I'm not sure what the process is to get it since I haven't had the need to do it yet. However, if you are seeing Bluecruise on your truck, you have to be on at least 2.8.2 for that to appear. The video below should help you to make sure you're doing it right.
