It was noted in here that there was a newer update version for the recall, assuming that was the trailer brake one, and if you got the older one from the dealer you would get the OTA one. I got the newer one from the dealer and my OTA skipped it. Just got 2.8.1 today.

 

Exactly. I got mine updated at the dealer and got another OTA the very next day.

 

I'm still in 2.7.1.

Dealership had to hard reset everything, nearly a full year after I took delivery. Almost comical. It at least is to me.

I bought a computer attached to an ICE and 4 wheels. I knew what I was gettin' into

 

Fancy! I’m still on 2.0.0 haha - although I’ve seen I have half of the 2.8.2 downloaded apparently - waiting for the other download to “arrive soon” to complete it.

I am not a computer IT expert nor do I play one on TV.
When I try to connect to my home WI-Fi the Ford Sync says that it cannot connect even though I can see both regular and 5G Verizon addresses showing.
I’m told that it may be some sort of security firewall etc. not letting me connect? If so why can all my friends connect when I do as I did here- give my password?
Come in Ford, let’s fix this half baked software and make OTA updates really work. If you are monitoring this thread you know many like myself have almost given up trying to connect.

Are you on 1.7.1? I had a similar issue back in Dec '21 with my truck. I had it connected to my wifi router 15 feet from the front of my truck. Had always connected without issue. Then I got an update from 1.6 to 1.7.1 and it quit working. I tried to connect over and over with no luck. Deleted the wifi connection numerous times and then finally did an APIM reset after a wifi delete. I was finally able to get it to connect and it started to immediately download data. I left the truck on to see what it would do and luckily it downloaded about 2GB of data and after key cycle applied I believe 1.8. I have not had an issue since with wifi connectivity. Not sure if this will help your situation but thought I would pass it along.

 

@Livnitup can you please tell me if Mines stuck? I've had mine for almost a year and have never received an update that I'm aware of. I think I need to bring her in for all the recalls too!
