I've been seeing fairly regular updates the last month but I have now come to the update for 2.8.1 and it's failed for the last 4 nights as scheduled. I have also tried manually updating and it fails then too. It never gives me an actual reason, just "It was unsuccessful." Seems to happen about 12 minutes into the update process based on the time of the failure notifications.

Everything else has updated without this problem.
If you provide your VIN, can see if the OTA dashboard gives any clues.

I think others in this thread have noted that low battery voltage can cause an update to not apply before the expiration (most updates expire after about a week). So if you are like me and most of your trips are pretty short ones, the battery may be too low for the truck to initiate the update and you could be hitting the expiration. Just a guess anyway.

@mustanglvr66 The last time your truck received an update of any kind was 12/8/2021, and it was an update to the SYNC software. The system doesn't provide much more info than that. You likely have one of those botched APIM modules that have plagued a few people on here.

I'm sure there are other options. Which one you choose is completely up to you.

7 days? LOL. Mine took 2 months and 4 days.
I've been trying to get them to put in a new APIM but they haven't yet. Fixed budget for me, so I couldn't afford the Mongoose, charger and FDRS subscription. If they don't fix it this time I will try a new dealer and see how it goes.

That is an excellent point. My commute is minimal and could absolutely be the case. I may just throw the trickle charger on tonight and see if that help.

VIN is 1FTFW1E86MFB43857 if you're feeling frisky. TIA

Looks like you've had an incredible successful OTA update history. You have one about ready to activate also.

That said... it does look like it may be unhappy about your battery level. The trickle charger may be the correct play, or go for an hour round trip drive with $5 gas, your call.

Edit: just saw vulnox beat me to the response

Looks like your truck is cued up for the Bluecruise OTA update today so hopefully you have some good news in the next few days:

Just for my curiosity to see if any of my updates installed while my truck was at the dealer for updates if anyone is willing to run my VIN. I appear to be up to date with BC and camera working but the scriptable widget shows me at 2.6.0 (which was stuck at 1.7.1 prior to dealer visit.) My VIN is 1FTFW1E83MFC05246. Thank you.
