Weird, maybe because the install manifest downloaded it's showing up under there incorrectly. I would run under the assumption it didn't install though. Especially since this one was a vehicle inhibit so it would only actually install during your scheduled install time or if you manually forced it (like I did on mine). That the log shows it was sent to the truck and then failed a minute later tells me some of issue, probably on the Ford server side, prevented it from being downloaded and applied properly. It should retry in a couple days. I had this happen on 2.7.1, although it failed with a different error, and it retried a few days later and was fine.

The TRM recall is independent of the Sync or PowerUp version your truck is currently on. Ford's OTA system may want a specific version, but the software itself can be applied with FDRS without any other updates on the truck.

Your dealer installed BB on yours according to the vehicle history.

Yes, the vehicle was parked and doors locked at 6:15pm when I got home. At 6:15, I manually initiated the TRM update, and a countdown started of 2 minutes where I was told to secure the car because the alarm would be disabled for 8 minutes while it updated. On the dashboard, exactly two minutes later, it says the update failed at 6:17pm. At 6:22pm, Fordpass sent a message that the update failed. Half an hour later at 6:52pm I got another Fordpass message that the update had failed (dashboard says the update failed at 6:43pm). At the time, I thought it was retrying TRM update. However, went I go into my truck at around 7:30pm, it said it was running 2.7.3. This morning, it still says 2.7.3 on my touchscreen.

If your VIN is on an OTA distribution list for say TRM but the dealership does it in FDRS first then the OTA will linger in the OTA dashboard and will eventually show as failed because it will see the software has already been updated. If a 2nd TRM update comes that is newer than what the dealership did in FDRS then it should proceed via OTA.

That makes good sense to me. That's the more important update to me. I'll let it run it's course for the 2.7.3 (which I already have according to my truck) and 2.8.x ones naturally. I need to get off PTS. All I'm doing is working myself up over nonsense. lol

I just got this update today. Seems like nothing important to me.

Could someone run my VIN and tell me where I stand with regards to the updates? My dealer is about as close to worthless as one can get.

Thanks in advance!

You're good. You just got 2.7.4 a little while ago. lol You seem to be getting OTA's regularly.

4 open FSA's:
  • 21S56 LOOSE/SAGGING UNDERBODY INSULATORS
  • 21G01 BLUECRUISE MODULE PROGRAMMING
  • 22S12 WIPER MOTOR INOPERATIVE
  • 22S17 REPROGRAM INTEGRATED TRAILER RELAY MODULE
However, it shows in your OTA that the did get a trailer module update on 6/3, so maybe that one is a no longer relevant.

I appreciate the info! I've been waiting on Blue Cruise since last Fall. I guess I have a ways to go. With regards to the FSA's, the dealer claims that they can't get parts because a warehouse burned down last year.
