Taking pictures and documenting every step takes time, so I am making slow progress.

But its coming along.

I think I would prefer to install the side camera on the tow mirror like to OEM ones are located. That would make it so that even with the mirrors folded the camera would still show the same image. Which might come in handy when parking into a small space.

But I dont know if this will be possible...

I will have one of the guys test it on Friday to see how the view looks and report back to you.
Hi,

Did you manage to get your tech to try out the side camera to see if they can be installed on the side of the door pointing down and produce and image on the screen that is not flipped or rotated ? Both sides ?

(This is for a tow mirrors installation, just like to OEM side camera)

That's what I had hoped for, but the OEM tow mirror has a different base mount to accommodate the camera. I finally found a picture.

Exactly! But looking at the side camera that camera-source propose with their kit it seems like to camera could be side mounted and oriented to point straight down...

But I'm not sure about drilling a hole (1" diameter ???) on the side of the truck...

That would be nice if the camera could be mounted that way. Hopefully they can come up with something. I just got the kit. The instructions say that the camera should be mounted in a vertical plane, with camera pointing down and cable pointing up. The camera is about 7/8" diameter. I am considering other options right now. I can't install until next weekend anyway. I exchanged the surface mounted front camera for the one that fits in the OEM grill hole. The new grill just came in today, but no front camera yet.
