Adding Front Camera to XLT
As I understood the schematics from the factory manual, the digital signals (data+, data-, etc) are sent from source to the impb (the one with dual connectors) and them upstream to the display.
Thats where camera sources' interface taps, after the image has benn processed by the ipmb. Since we only have the rear camera-enabled ipmb, the signal gets bypassed making it work as before.

Too many acronyms - just let us know when it's up and working already!
Anxiously waiting to see a writeup and review of the system. Hopefully with someone who has an XLT 302a w/ sync 3.

So its a "no" to use the OEM camera without any IPMB to process them, and then, if you have the IPMB to process them, you dont need the camera-source module.
So the camera-source solution does exactly want the OP wanted in the first place... :-)
I agree with you. The IPMB was missing in my equation as a possible converter. That make sense.

And I think there is someone on sync 3 doing it as well...
Was there someone doing a Sync 3 install? Status of the install?
Would like to pull the trigger but welcome your input, especially on the Sync 3.
