JP......like Whitey said, I had Coopers too and they were loud and rough riding. I went back to the BF Goodrich's and they were so much better. I have since gone to a cheaper tire, that I actually really like. I went with Fuzions. I know they are cheap, but they are so great on our roads, quiet as hell, and were under 100 a tire delivered.

On Blue, I have Hakkappallatta's and in the snow, nothing beats them, that I've found. I don't even have studs in them, and get around as good as the studded tires on a lot of rigs. My Mustang is running new Hankooks. I pulled Evo's off and put on the bigger replacements. They drive so much nicer, since the size came up and made the car much more fun in the corners.

2100.....those were some nice pictures. Very nice color and very vivid. Nice shots.

Well, I finally got the front stripes changed on Sonya. I'm not so sure I like the design, but I'll run with it for a bit to see if I like it or if I change to something else. With that Turtle Wax glue remover, it makes them quit easy to swap. It took me 20 minutes total to remove, and clean up after them on the hood. That sure beats the time it took to remove the rears. lol''

I was at the store yesterday, and Red was all by himself in the parking lot, so I snapped a picture. You know, I bought this truck 2 years ago next month, and still haven't had to wash him. I'm going to go this afternoon and do an underbody wash and wash the truck, then tonight, after it dries, I'm going to do some cleaning on the undercarriage, and painting. He's about done. I should be able to drive him for some time, and not have payments for another 100k truck, that doesn't look much better than he does. I look at it this way, if it looks good, runs well, and isn't a money pit, why not stick with him. He looks good, and most things are new, and again that one big thing, NO Payments. lol

Sounds like most everyone is against the Coopers. Thats a shame.

Red is looking really good and I keep holding on to mine for the same reasons. Ive got a clunk in my front end in 4wd when i switch from forward to reverse so I need to see what thats all about soon.

Have you looked into the kelly safari tsrs? My PO put them on a year before I got the truck. That was 6yrs ago. I still have just under half tread left and they grip pretty dang good in snow and mud. Not too loud either

Note guys. Kelly's are made by Cooper. That said, I always had great luck with them. I had great luck with the old Tiger Paws too. I have a friend with new Firestones on his F150 and he loves them. I could barely hear the tires while we were going at 70. It is an 05, but still with the old Goodrich's it sounded like it was taking off when it got that fast. I used to like Firestones. I think they got a bad rap when the Exploder had them as standard equipment.

I had Firestone Destination AT's on my Escape when I got it, and I really liked them. I have a friend on another forum that manages a Firestone, and he told me their Destination MT 2's are a tough customer. They have the 23 degree angle tread, which is supposed to be the perfect traction angle.... and they are supposed to be the quietest MT tire on the market.

That said, I don't know if you would even consider MT's, JP. But, it might be worth looking into if you are.

So far, the Cooper AT3's have been the best tires I've run on the 98. BUT, they only have about 8000 miles on them. They are E's and 10 lbs heavier per tire than my old GY Fortaras. No mileage drop. I believe the higher pressure they must have to function correctly has something to do with that. No road noise yet, I mean 0 noise, -they are quiet. They ride great, but most likley take the bumps ,pot holes much harder than C's would. I'm happy with them, they still look new, very deep treads on these tires.

My GY's lasted just 35,000 miles. Well they were down to an 1/8" at that point. The GY's road excellent though, just wore quickly. I don't drive the 98 much anymore, not a DD but I put those miles on them recently and in the last couple years.

Exact same thing.... He doesn't understand that just because you reword your question, it doesn't change the answer. I deal with this all the time.... reworded questions **** me off. Nothing gets me hotter any faster, lol.

And for you Carpwine, I say

They must have changed their process/design quite a bit, because mine are quite loud. The AT2's are loudest tires I've ever had on anything by far.
