The Escapes have a cast pan what has a fairly significant amount of threads. The one on my Brothers was for sure over-tightened.

Too bad you aren't closer... I have a front axle sitting here.

Yea, it's a discontinued part, -no replacement or part# updates...which I find very strange. Putting the screws to the gen 10 guys lol. PITA.

Anyone have a revision # for, -

5L3Z-4K206-AA

I'm betting there is one, -they changed the number for something insignificant...can't find one though.

Well, I have the truck at the kids house...we've been doing some planning, bringing it back to new. Since she wanted the truck (sentimental). Just repaired the exhaust, now this. We drove by to see what I hit, - it was an old rusty boat winch. It's on the shoulder now, but I'm sure that's what I hit.

Don't have a camera with me, -kid has one, I'll snap a pic shortly.

On the part, as said, I can't find one, - they all begin from 2003 +. Looks identical to mine. Hate to let it sit...we really don't need the truck, but still lol. I'll keep looking. Let me know if you guys think of something, thanks!

Brew.. It updates to 4 pieces, including a new tube number Here is the link. This price is outrageous though.

It's weird how Lakeland says that updates, but no where else does anyone show it. I also went into my crash books, and they show the same 5L3Z-4K206-AA number with nothing for update reference. Strange as hell.

Here is the part though. I found it in San Francisco area. $219.00 https://trademotion.com/parts/1998/F...&siteid=216206

Thanks friend! Crap, the pic slipped my mind, that's alright still have my coat on, get that in a sec....dangit! Anyway, thanks for the cross numbers at lakeland. Been there 3 times recently, but no cross refs. The link you provided has them tho...weird. That's what I've been looking for. I'll check those after I get a pic. From what I've been able to put together since my last post. There was an update, -small, it has to do with breather hole location lol. Some were at the top (updated), earlier models at the side. It isn't totally clear, going off posts here and there.

The link you posted from sanfran has the word "Part Discontinued" in small print , bottom right corner. Attempted a checkout anyway, to see if the site would allow purchase regardless. They may have one like you said, but THAT isn't clear or clear enough lol. Have to call them Mon to confirm....brb.

This is the break, -

This shows breather location. Pretty sure the breather local is the difference, but still...haven't located the tube for 99 plus models either. Btw, I'm thinking they moved the breather from the tube to the differential itself...just not sure when this occurred.

However I did find some online salvage companies that say they have the tube. Prices range from 100-300 and they say "tube only". There's also a different part # on the part itself. Attempted a pic of that but it didn't turn out, -

Wow.... that's a pretty decent break. You must have hit the thing hard. Did all of the fluid leak out?
