They are usually an easy fix. Worst case with those older units is a heat exchanger crack IMO. Worse than that is if you don't check it from the get go. The sensors and boards are easy and quick to test. The Repair Clinic Doc's have very good instructional's. I go over them often since I don't do it every day. But yea, you did the right thing farming it out if you don't have the time. Seems like this should be insurance deal since the home was recently purchased.

Spent most the weekend setting the trailer up with 4 awg 3 pole. Mann, was that tuff, took twice the time estimate. That cable is so large, the biggest challenge was stuffing every strand in the connectors. My connectors are rated 4awg max BUT, this is high stand cable. In order for this to work, you need very clean cuts and perfect twists or it ain't gonna fit, not all of it anyway. So it took longer than expected to perfect. To cut this large cable cleanly I had to resort to a hacksaw believe or not and 4 blade changes.
In most cases only 6 AWG is used for 4 AWG connectors for this reason. I wasn't aware of this and there isn't a directional that explains that. It's what's learned in the field more less. Successful, but much less than fun.

Right, that's because they lock-out. Been there done that. Never went down to 30 inside the house though. That's a little dangerous..your shii begins to freeze and hell breaks loose lol.

BTW, I am hoping I am getting a different position at work too... which should pay more. I was asked to put in for it by HR. It is an IT job, so that would be cool to finally use my degree, LOL.
So at present the work I've done so far. The trailer uses about $16 - $19 a month in electricity to keep it running. It would be a little higher if someone was there full time using accessories. Propane usage has improved 150% since I added the insulation. So I can take this thing anywhere and not have to keep running for propane in the winter. I could better that, but content at the moment. Next will be setting up for solar. I'm hoping to find property soon. I did find acreage but man, I have to go so far north for the good stuff.
Colorado is where I want to end up eventually. Not sure when that will happen, I'm tied here with family and relationships for now. Best case scenario would be to find a piece here for now. This time of year, not much for sale. Takes time I guess, for things to come together.

Colorado is really the only other state I would have interest in living in, besides UT. The Wife wanted to move to Gillette, WY when we moved this past summer. Had to put the brakes on that. I need to be by mountains. Real mountains. I go nuts looking at plains and flat land.
Yeah, I am really hoping that this furnace gets replaced. I might see if I can sweeten the deal somehow and get a new A/C unit put in at the same time. I know the temps are low, but I sure would like to have a more efficient, and newer setup for both heating and cooling.

Well, you must have good position now. One that trumped your IT degree or you should of put it use already right ? IT goes up and up if your vigilant enough lol.
Powenz....for a 97 that old 7700 (f250), is in fairly good outer shape. Of course the tailgate gets abused like many, but all in all that is a clean old 7 lug. Also, let me know what you come up with. I wanted to send you a picture, but it wouldn't let me in the message system. I need the lower one in the picture (left side).
I was going thru some stuff for a guy today, and found this chart on all the torque specs for our trucks, so I'm going to post it, in case anyone needs a quick reference.

Powenz......If you notice this one, it is broken in the fins also. This is very common up here in the ice and snow, lol. 4th fin from the left on the bottom.

I had the camera from the house to clean up old files and needed to add some memories from work. The bench seat is untorn but could fall apart if we cleaned out the years of flyash and coal dust. Duct tape to hold the glove box close. The inside of the bed is battered.
Looks like you could hold a cigarette where the broken fin is. Do you only want the drivers side or both?
Well sounds like autolites it is lol. I pulled out autolite platinums so I will probably just buy those again. It ran fine with those. Got tdc set up and good lord my rotor was pointing to 6. Firing order is 1 5 4 2 6 3 7 8. Again this baffles me because it was running and I havent moved the distributor but now its way off. Hopefully I can get this thing running today
