Did you flush the core yet?

The 3rd generation Taurus is NOTORIOUS for the heater cores getting plugged up. What I've done to these is buy a bottle of radiator flush, and let it sit in the core for a good 30 minutes, the flush the hell out of it, then repeat. I actually did this to my Escape thinking the core was the problem..... but it wound up being the t-stat.

Found the stuff I used in the old Prime Photos... LOL. In fact, these pics are even flushing a 3rd gen Taurus. For some dumb reason, Ford has a "bypass" hose on these things, which I believe makes it easier for the core to collect all of the crap in the system.... because the core is also the lowest point in the system (besides the bottom of the radiator). If you don't pinch off the bypass hose, not much is getting accomplished.

Haha white, I found an old W7x64 install CD I used for my old DT build in 08. Decided to try it on the lap top I've been working on here and there. Before doing so I threw in a Core 2 duo CPU, T9900 @ 3.06 GHz x2 that I had packed away.

This is a Dell Inspiron 1545 btw.

Anyway, I installed a fresh SSD , a Samsung 850 EVO and got the W7 install going.

No drivers for the Dell yet and this was a clean install of W7. The laptop boots in 4.2 seconds lol. Guess I'm surprised at the speed of this thing without bloatware and that it works without drivers.

Now if I can steal some programs that was left on the failed drive it will be a success.

I am a big fan of Windows 7. That is a great boot time! Windows 7 isn't nearly the ram hog that 8/8.1/10 are. That Dell 1545.... that might be what I bought my Wife. That part number sounds familiar for sure!

Does it only have one ram slot? That pissed me off when I went to add a stick of ram to the Wife's laptop, and it only has one slot.

It has two slots, 4 GB installed.

Thanks for the Prime info, going to use it I think.

4GB is OK for 7. Not so good for 10. I have 16GB in mine, and it really likes it. Mine has got an Intel Core i5-5200U, which is a better CPU than I had expected.

No problem on the Prime Photos. I like being able to go back and find stuff. It keeps it in chronological order, and is pretty easy to navigate. FYI - you can upload any pics you want to it from... say - and old HD. IIRC though, it will place it in the chronological order it was uploaded on those - not when it was taken.

16GB ? Dmn, that's what I have in my DT. For some reason it's saying only 12GB usable...bad stick? The DT is a AMD Phenom II X4. It's been a trusty and solid DT. I also use a Inspiron myself on occasion, it's a 1525 w/Vista. Yea, I need to update my laptop. I've been looking at the Alienware, Acer Predator and the Gigabyte Aero.

But as usual, hate change. Lets see, I need a new truck, a phone, have to get started on my house and now a new laptop. Overwhelming..allergic to change for sure lol. But hey, I purchased the Trailer, I went through with that lol.

Do you have shared memory on your DT? Some MB's with integrated video cards use the physical ram as video ram as well. So 4 gb might be getting used at video ram.

Not sure, the Nividia card has it's own ram. Yea, not sure if it's stealing more. Are you saying the onboard or separate MB video is active or running at the same time ? I'm sure I disabled it at some point during the build in the bios.

I flushed the core for an hour per one of the local ford mechanics... that's how I was able to at least get 120°. I'm consistently at 190 so I don't see it being my t stat. So I just plug my flush hoses up to the core, pour that radiator flush stuff in and 30mins later flush it out again?

My last resort before dumping $$$ is next time I'm visiting my parents they have a local shop that does diagnosis for free... just have to be down there for a few days as they are usually busy
