Thanks for the advice on the compressor Brew. I'll find someone to trade with, lol.

I drove my truck to work yesterday so I could pick up those Cobra R wheels... then stopped in at the paint shop to get the materials to refinish the wheels. The guy had just finished finishing a wheel for a Fusion, so he walked me through the process he used. He showed me before pics.... and man, was I sold. He used some metal reinforced body filler to fix divots. I really don't have a lot of major flaws in them. Anyway, I picked a pretty dang good looking color - and seeing what he had done, I decided to go base/clear.

No problem lol. Metal reinforcing has aluminum in the mix...good stuff.

This is what I got.... he used it on that wheel he did. I really wish I would have taken pics. It's a pewter looking color that he did.

EDIT: This doesn't say "Metal Reinforced".... maybe that was the other stuff I was looking at before I started talking to him.

Yea that's glazing stuff, for finish. They have filler that incorporates actual metal as well..aluminum. 3M, SEM, evercoat, marson...USC, they all make it lol.

That makes sense then... What I am repairing is only 1 to 2 mm deep in the worst spot - It's chipped paint, down to the metal. They are in pretty decent shape.... especially for what I paid for them. I'm 200 into them right now, and they just need some elbow grease now. These sell for 180 bucks a piece new.

Right after I bought my house, a friend at work gave that to me to put up in the garage. I don't watch NASCAR much anymore, but back when Rusty was running that car, I was hot and heavy into it. Mark Martin was always my favorite driver though.

Haha, sworn off that kind of elbow grease. A blaster is one the best investments I've ever made. That and a 2 stage compressor. Never be without. The most elbow grease I provide nowadays is a wax lol.
