Looks like it helps formulations that are otherwise lacking, just as I thought.

I'm guessing my 4r70w uses mercon v so that wouldn't help my intermittent of shift shudder?

Dealers are plentiful, so are the deals. Around here anyway I guess. All the Carquests have it, as well as the tire shops. We don't do Avon around here, but that sort of hints what you might go for.

It's the best you can do for these transmissions. I've had to flush the trans just once in the 98 since Amsoil and the analysis always comes back great. What's great is never having to mess with the trans fluid.

And you think it's Avon??? Your high lol.
Didn't try to strike a nerve... But yeah, I am serious. Talked to some lady from their corporate off and on for about 2 weeks about it. Even was going to be a dealer for a bit there. Next thing I know, I've got these people wanting me to get in as a dealer under their name. Maybe Amway would be a better description than Avon. I tried to order from them instead because it was going to cost me about 100 dollars a year to be a dealer. Decided I'd rather focus on other things, and at this point all I wanted to do was make an order. The dealers I went to, I found, were the same guys trying to get me in under them. I couldn't talk to them without feeling pressured, and I don't play games like that. Dead serious Brew, I'm not disputing that they sell a superior product. Not at all. I am contesting the way they sell their products though. I remember you saying Carquest carried it, but they've gone belly up here in UT. They were bought out by Advanced.

Can you suggest somewhere else? I sincerely tried to buy their stuff - but just went with synthetic instead.

Interesting. I am going off what Transtar said was best for them. I've used green in it twice, and only positive results.

I don't know what this stuff is about having to become a dealer, that's unheard of here, since we have so many suppliers. If we didn't, I d order through Amazon or e bay. It's the best synthetic you can buy, Amsoil and Royal Purple. Just for transmissions and power steering.
When using Merc V I almost purchased a new trans as I haddn't another choice, so I thought. This was back in 07 when the trans was slipping badly. I was talked into trying Amsoil by someone I trust. This was over 10 years ago and the trans is still going strong. Amsoil has that miracle formulation that brings them back from the dead..unbelievable so.

I may be skeptical, if I didn't see it for myself lol.

That's kind of what Lubegard does, but you're only putting in a few ounces and you're fixing someone else's product..... whereas Amsoil has the stuff you need all in it. I've also heard there is now a Mobil 1 has a top tier formulation now, which I need to look into. There have been a couple debates on BITOG over which is better.

Either way, I will switch the Toyota over to something better this spring... and use that as my lab rat, as it sees the most miles of anything I own (Can't beat the mpg's).

Just thought of something - since I got the Toyota in August, I've put exactly 3 tanks of gas in the truck. Kinda feel bad about that, lol.

It is about to get thrust back into service again though. We've had about a foot of snow dumped on us in the last 26 hours (still snowing as I type this too). Expecting even more snow on Monday.

BTW, AK.... speaking of IT, I switched over to the cable modem and I am very impressed. I guess I can call Century Link and kill my DSL now. I wanted to make sure cable was what I needed. I wish they'd come bury their damn line though. Damn near hit it with the snow blower today. Coulda been painful.... living without internet for a period of time, LOL. This is the router I went with below, which is great if you have kids. The best parental controls I have ever used on any router/modem. It is also accessible remotely so I can kill the internet on any device from my phone, anywhere. Also has media prioritization.... so I tell it to slow anything down but Sling, LOL.

They want $139 for that router, but with Wikibuy, it is $104 delivered. Not a bad price at all.
