Regular old 150's had them as well (XLT's/Lar). I can vouch for, -from 01 +.. for sure. If you hit the yard, take a look. 01's also had fire wall liners. The hood liners are easy to remove...firewall liners different story.

Yeah my 03 has one... just talking about the black pad attached to the hood right? Yep still got it and it looks in good shape. Is there a point to it other than a cleaner look?

As a sound deadener, heat for winter in the compartment, looks, more than anything else.

What is this wizardry you speak of?

The black pad that uses the Christmas Tree retainers?

Yes sir, that is the one. I don't have one in either truck, and neither have had retainers in the holes (still perfect paint).

I found one on eBay from China or how ever Trump says the name, lol. It was only 20 so I think just for S&G's, I'm going to try it. It's a grey color, but that's what Rustoleum is for.

Update on the job. I'm guessing I got it! Just was asked to meet with the powers that be tomorrow morning! Wish me luck.

On the furnace situation... the warranty company sent a guy out last night. The guy vacuumed it out and said "that should fix it". Basically, they want to nurse this thing along until the warranty expires at the end of July. I'm not playing games here. Going to get a quote to replace the furnace and A/C. I don't like playing Russian roulette with a furnace.

Baby steps! That got the truck firing! It just will not stay running.... I am guessing I need to advance the distributor at this point?

Not that it runs and fires, do what Whitey said and put a vacuum gauge on the manifold tree so that you can set it close with the gauge. You are making way "grasshopper". Good deal.

Whitey....that is the one I was looking at. The one at LMC was outrageously priced. I think it was 249 or something like that. It took a minute to get the heart started again when I saw their price. lol I think I'll go ahead and order one and be the guinea pig on this one. I still have enough of the retainers (I got them from GM many many years ago when a dealership closed) to do both trucks if this one works for me. I think I'll order one tonight and go from there. If I find an Expy one locally, I'll grab it if it isn't oil
soaked or damaged badly.

I took the one out of my Mustang because it touches the battery from the factory.... and we all know what's next. Looked like crap, so I took it out for shows, lol.

In fact, it was in rough shape when I bought it..... and it was barely 6 years old at that time.
