Two different guys, BTW. The guy in the Jeep is my Buddy that owns the transmission shop. He's since sold this XJ. But it was built.... he was probably 40 grand into it.

Dang man. I wanted to do Hells Gate so bad, but the entrance to it would have crushed one of my rockers. If I would have had sliders I would have given it a shot for sure.

If you want to see something really cool check out my YouTube channel. I just put 5 videos up of the trail I took. The jeep guys were looking at me like I was insane.

No problem. Cool! Hey what's the Deere for, just in case? lol.

Man that stuff looks like it could go horribly wrong if your not paying attention. Could end up with a lot of scrapes and dents by the end of the day. Looks like fun though!

BTW- Yea snatching could do it too, specially after all the bushing materiel is spent. That's what happens, the bushing material disintegrates and the trans/crossmember is metal to metal. It's a vibration magnet, eventually stress cracks. Without a damper or any dampening, all sorts of parts vibrate and eventually break. The manifold bolts/studs don't suffer that well. They will be the next to break. Vibration transfer, - one area to the next.

The Deere was for my daughter. A friend of mine in SLC gave it to me after his son outgrew it. Literally everyone out there had a comment about cutting grass or something lol.

That trail was a bit too extreme for my truck on 33s and a worn limited slip. 35s and a real locker would have made a mountain of difference. I actually got a little bit of body damage. I came off a rock, landed on the exhaust tip and the tip smashed into the bottom of the rear fender bending it a bit. Definitely need some armor on there next time.

I think I’ll pick up a new mount on Friday when I get another new fan clutch. You probably remember I replaced just about the entire cooling system not long ago. My old fan clutch wasn’t engaging, now the new one is mostly stuck on.... Annoying as all hell doing things twice.

Yea , those mounts are cheap in cost. You almost needed a locker climbing that rock lol. Glad the front end came down to get a little bite!

I'm willing to bet the clutch was an hd variant. I had the same problem on my black truck so efans happened instead of doing it twice.

Drill, - a pick from my header build. It shows the bad mount, also shows the cracked damper plate before I welded it...just to give you an idea. Check that plate as well. You can't miss it once you pull the crossover, -

Going to get pic heavy here for a minute.... LOL. This is the Jeep. It had a 4.0 stroked to a 4.6 - and man-o-man did it have some *****. I took it for a ride with these tires (thinking they are 38's, but I'll have to ask him again) and it flat out lit them up when I gunned it. It had Eaton front and rear electric lockers. As you can see, the front end was built too. It had sliders, sub frame connectors, full cage....

Ya only about 10 bucks. Pretty easy to change it looks like? Just unbolt replace and bolt back up right? Probably have to use a jack to lift the trans a little.

And yes need a real locker for sure. There were a few climbs I couldn’t make because of that worn lsd. Granted they were 3 times taller than that one lol.

Ya it’s an HD one. I’m just going to buy the NAPA brand one and swap it out again. I’ve had really good luck with their parts lately. And it has a lifetime warranty. The other one I got from Rock Auto.
