Lou Curdles was the only pilot to shoot down German, Italian and Japanese aircraft in WW2- and an American plane!- he purposely shot down a C-47 transport to keep it from falling into enemy hands, by shooting out the engines-i dont recall why it was necessary, but all survived, and as a humorous side note- one of the nurses on board was his girl friend!

Weather finally cooperated this morning in Anchorage, so I finished the tune on my blue 98. It turns out that the #4 wire was arcing to the head, thus the misfire on P0304. I put in new MC plugs, but with the weather getting down to 19 the night before, doing much with cold wire connectors and such, isn't a good for their life expectancy. lol
Rather that pull the plug loom as an assembly, I just took #4 and clipped it so I could pull it out. I had to cut it in 4 places to get that long pos out of there. I took the new wire and ran it along the old wire's route, but rather than breaking the connectors today, I just wire tired it to them. It's in the same locations, but tied up differently for the winter. I'll put the other 7 wires on in the spring. Talk about night and day difference. It wouldn't code out before, but when it did, I was able to quickly find the problem This is why I love OBDII.
2100....those pictures are very nice that you posted.

Today after I finished up Blue, I went ahead and changed the drivers door panel in lil Red. It was damaged on the holders on the bottom, so I found another 98 and got a match off it.
I managed to get the 2 little plugs for both doors, the courtesy light at the back of the panel, the lock rod escutcheon, and decided to take off the upper pull handle. So if any of you guys need any of those things, I've got them for you. I didn't want to throw away anything that is about impossible to find. I know how hard it is to get the lenses for those courtesy lights.

Man it was miserable helping a neighbor get his Ranger up and going again. He bought an Autozone starter, put it on and no crank. He called me over to check it and with all that was done, we checked the solenoid and had a power running all over the place. We grabbed another from O'Reilly's and now not even the lights came on.
It was between 8 and 25 degrees the whole day. It was miserable, unless you stood in the sun then it was hot as hell. No happy medium. Top that off, I'm trying to help the most **** dude in the world. If it isn't in front of him, so he can read it, he can't comprehend anything. It's like working with a 7 year old. I like him, but at times...........
Anyways, after 3 hours of this misery, I told him to pull the starter back off and lets have it tested. After a good 30=45 minutes of arguing over the pull, he went back under to check and pull it. He took it back to AZ, and the thing was total junk. Nothing would energize the solenoid. AZ said it showed an internal short, thus the power going all over at the solenoid terminals. DUH.
Of course, they didn't have another of that one in stock, so we got it Friday morning. We went and got it at noon so it was warmer. He put that new starter on and still nothing. I jumped across the terminals of the solenoid and it fired immediately. AH, now I knew what to fix.
I pulled the new starter solenoid and replaced it with the original. Hooked the wires and it was working like it should. Damn BW solenoid is backwards of the original Motorcraft terminals. That, and the wiring harness doesn't fit to the BW top terminal mount. It's too tall for the Ranger's wiring harness to fit right. It comes with brass washers to raise the terminals to fit the harness. Total BS. This is why I normally don't buy aftermarket engine/engine compartment parts. I hate where they try and sell a specific part to fit 300 applications. I like OEM.
