Old school ignition likes copper, in my experience.

How old is the timing chain? Is it stretched?

2100.....I'm concerned that you are 180 out on the TDC. #6 is the opposite side of the cap, 180 out. Try setting TDC again. I'm thinking you are on the wrong stroke. That engine didn't sound that far off, just too advanced.

Well, you must have good position now. One that trumped your IT degree or you should of put it use already right ? IT goes up and up if your vigilant enough lol.
Yeah, I've got a decent job now. But always looking to move up if I can.

Yeah on the way there I decided to go with copper lol

No clue on how old it is, it moves ever so slightly but not much, maybe 1/8-1/4 of play

Ok yeah I was curious about that. Was not positive I was on the compression stroke. That might save a head ache

Ok you were right, I should have noticed that was 180 out. I did another turn and got the cylinder back up. I was just slightly off the 1 point with the rotor

Oh yeah , always. That's just how it's always been, coppers and nothing else. Substitutes gives them a headache. This translates to hair loss for any owner.

That's all it takes, one tooth. You. should be good once set to just BTDC. I believe that year is around 8 to 1o degrees BTC, so just a bit behind the #1 rotor position, should get you home and running. Remember which way the rotor goes, and set it before the #1 with the lock down position.

Best way to set those BBF is via vacuum. This is the method that works best for me... check this out.

Has anyone bought a hood insulator pad for their hood? I was just thinking, I don't have one on either truck. I've seen them on Gators and Expy's, and KR's. Just wondering if anyone put one in.
