Studded tires are great. I had them on my blue 150, but pulled the studs so I had year round on road/off road tires. One of the best studded tires is the Nokian Hakkappalllitta's with aluminum studs. Other metal studs have been outlawed, so I decided that with the aluminum studs you only get 2 years of winter driving before restudding them or destudding them. I chose the latter.

Non-studded winter tires are also very usable, if you run Blizzaks. I have those on the winter tires for the Fusion and a set on rims for the Mustang, if I want to use it in the winters. I don't. lol Blizzaks are a rubber compound that sticks to ice and won't slide like other normal brands. Best overall tire to me, the Blizzaks. JMO, of course.
Yeah I have heard really good thinks about blizzaks. If I ever buy snow tires that is what I will buy. I have never messed with getting winter/summer tires tho. I just usually buy an mt/at and drive em till they need replacing. Southern Indiana usually does not need chains or studs. I did just check and apparently indiana allows them. MI is prohibited. Here is a pic if anyone is wondering about their state

Nice info... thing that sucks is, I recently saw some Blizzak's on the local classifieds, which were already on Yaris rims.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda.

This ought to be an interesting day. Trump is supposed to be visiting today, one block from work. I'm sure all things will be locked down for a period of time.

Are you still in need of the cowl trim for Red? Found some Sat. at the local salvage yard. One donor is a 97 Expy with a 07-97 build date and the other a 98 Expy with a 03-98 build date. I have the part numbers from both donors as the trim pieces are already pulled. More details available at request.

Hey guys how’s it going? I finally got back rom my work trip in SLC. On the way back I stopped in Moab! It was so awesome. I did the entire Hells Revenge Trail fully loaded down with gear. It was pretty nasty so once I got home I started inspecting the truck. All was well except for the alignment and it looks like the trans crossmember is cracked. I was wondering if you guys have seen anything like this before? Judging by the small rust I think it’s probably been this way for a while.

I have! But not in a very long time. I've seen others crack the cross member. Personally, I cracked the bushing damper plate just above the crossmember. It occurs when the bushing wears out. I welded my plate back together and replaced the bushing. You need to take care of that pronto, it will break your rear exhaust manifold studs next and that's no fun.

I’m gonna guess that’s also partly from snatching stuck vehicles and the amount of severe offroad this truck sees. I’ll probably replace that crossmember and bushing. Thanks Jbrew.

If you want to see something really cool check out my YouTube channel. I just put 5 videos up of the trail I took. The jeep guys were looking at me like I was insane.

Exactly what Brew said. Your mount is bad.

Jeep guys.... they think they own Moab. My Buddy took his Dad's 95 long bed F350 up Hells Revenge.... everything was fine until he busted an axle

Lol that sounds like no fun way out there. I got in a bad spot and slid off a 3’ dropoff. I’m surprised I didn’t snap a tie rod. It jerked the wheel all the way to the left, would have broke my thumbs if I wasn’t paying attention.

Here's a video of my Buddy's XJ on Hell's Gate.... yeah, he tipped it on its side, lol. This was his first go at it. Didn't really listen to directions.
