My daughters dogs are on collars, they work! She has a shep and rot. German Shepard is about a year old now. She has her hands full with that one, but those collars work very well. I think she lost patience with training that one, but as far as perimeter fencing, the dogs stay in the yard. Well, until the collar batteries go dead or they aren't on. The dogs take advantage of that and they're gone lol.

Looks like it's F150 time tomorrow. News says it'll be an ugly commute into SLC tomorrow.

While I am thinking the little 'Yota is probably fairly decent in the snow, I don't want to be sitting stuck on !-80 at 5am, lol. Think I'll go over to Les Schwab and look at getting some chains for the little guy.... or studs.

Do tires need to be special for studs? Seems like my Buddy had to buy certain tires to get studs in the Mustang back 20+ years ago.

What , studs, really? I thought those went obsolete once the front wheel drives came into the picture.

So you getting some snow white ? That didn't sound right..well, you know what I mean. Hopefully you'll miss most of it, taking the truck right? Or are you going to chance that little foreign car you have.

Yeah.... I've actually heard studs on a few cars around here already. They make "that sound" LOL. They are only legal certain times of the year.... like November to March, or something like that.

We are getting a light snow right now. Not even enough to get out a shovel yet. But, here I am so close to the Great Salt Lake, we get what is called the "lake effect", which gives us more snow than other places of Salt Lake, and Tooele valleys. We are supposed to start getting pounded (the term everyone uses for heavy snowfall in UT) at 1am. Until then, it's off and on light snow.

I am actually heading to Salt Lake as soon as my Wife gets back home (half hourish), and I'll be over there for a couple hours. Hopefully it doesn't start early.

Yea, I'm familiar with lake effect, being in the Great Lake State we are surrounded, always effected. Some places worse than others though, the closer you are....

Anyway, how long will you be on the road? Salt Lake and back?

They have a law still in effect. Huh, studded tires still must be in. The newest designs didn't cause road carnage unlike the older designs. Last time I used studs was on my CR500 , ice racing lol.

Tonight about 40 miles round trip. Tomorrow morning my commute is 35 miles to work. I aways leave at 5am and I am supposed to be there at 6am... obviously I am always early. Maybe not tomorrow, hahahaha.

Hey guys. How''s it hanging. I'm up here at the North Pole again, visiting, and thought I would throw my 02 cents in on the tires.

Studded tires are great. I had them on my blue 150, but pulled the studs so I had year round on road/off road tires. One of the best studded tires is the Nokian Hakkappalllitta's with aluminum studs. Other metal studs have been outlawed, so I decided that with the aluminum studs you only get 2 years of winter driving before restudding them or destudding them. I chose the latter.

Non-studded winter tires are also very usable, if you run Blizzaks. I have those on the winter tires for the Fusion and a set on rims for the Mustang, if I want to use it in the winters. I don't. lol Blizzaks are a rubber compound that sticks to ice and won't slide like other normal brands. Best overall tire to me, the Blizzaks. JMO, of course.
