My Buddy has an Ecoboost 2013 and he has the trailer stability control on it. He said that works really slick. He passed a big rig, and the draft made the trailer go wonky on him.... and the stability control evened it all out. I'd really like to know how that technology works.

Better ask Google...

EDIT: Interesting technology! It applies the brakes individually, and reduces speeds, etc..... That sounds expensive to fix.

Yea that's just a sway control which is cool if your loaded wrong. We had sway control/ load leveling equipment pulling her home. But not with the switch wheel braking...haven't seen that yet for this application anyway.

Huh, wonder what years got that ?

For sure 2013.... I don't think my other friends 2010 has it though - it's a 3V 5.4 though.

It's kinda like an ABS for trailers.

So do you think it can incorporate the trailer brakes into the system.... individually too?

:::head scratch::: It has been a while since I wired a trailer with brakes. Seems like there's only one 12 volt feed headed back there. Wonder if it requires a different plug/wiring, if so?

Yea, you need a controller and an exceptional ground.

Wouldn't you need to separate the left and right trailer brake as well? If so a different plug would also be needed no?

This is how the 08 Ford sway controls work. They slow down the truck by wheel, or a set. What ever it takes to bring the load weight under control. Here's the Ford service video.

So the controller would be on the trailer side and some mods to the trailer would be needed? As I know trailer brakes, there is one wire (blue?) to tell them when to fire, varied voltage depending on the controller's settings as to not lock em up.

For the record I'm not arguing....genuinely wondering Would be pretty cool to do up!
