^^^ Definitely would have gone smoother if you would have used more tape.
Seriously though, for metal cutting, Diablo is my go to.
How about some tap oil on the whole of the blade, and after some progress on the hole, too? But big holes in thin metal are hard. Sometimes a sacrificial 2x6 clamped on helps as it guides the pilot bit, but you can't always do that.
