Bill, - Irish Setters, Rocky and Danner for boots. Danners for the very light and breathable. Cats are okay for an economy pair though...the loose is in comfort... imo.
I've wore boots all day long most my life .
Thanks JB. I wore boots on weekends, hunting w dad or fishing w a Capt-vet-shrink, my gramps. OK, Wyo, NV, WA mostly, but getting stuck in the SillyCom Valley area, I don't own a real coat - a few vests. An in-stock weather resistant screen door with glass sliders was in stock in Sears-Reno, but here they wouldn't ship it. So, super tennies, these Cats rate. I hated finding a hike collecting $chtuff in a suddenly hollow heel. I guess $100 is the new $70. But I've been eyeing boots again. (Hidden tarsel protection, a plus.) Liked the canvas topped jungle boots. Light as the kangaroo leather boots dad got us... decades back. Someday I'll mention a hunt w my dad and uncle and breath waders.
SNL nowadays is unwatchable. Hell after Leno, Letterman, and Conan retired - I don't watch any late night programming at all.
Not late night but I miss Dick Cavet. He spoke English, as suddenly, he's erudite. Sheesh. Once PO'd a general or such, (oddly, a.special.and the only guest that day,) so badly that the General stormed off. Dick carried the show as well or better, alone. Or when 3 of the Rat-Pack got intentionally totally soused for the show... still great!
But Craig Ferguson, admiring ladies shoes, (atop his desk, please,) asked about a pair. "Oh, the are my dominatrex shoes." "I knew I'd seem them somewhere..."
Merry Christmas.
Mika peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge surrounded by loved ones @ 9:25 am.
She is no longer in pain.
I had Buddy out in the yard, but he came in after to sniff her and say good-bye.
He seems to be handling it better than me.

So sorry, Phil. I'm glad you gave Buddy a chance to say goodbye, too. Most people don't understand how important that can be.

G'pa, a retired Dr, stayed behind when we moved, keeping the family's 65 lb trim, Springer-Cocker Spaniel hunting dog. Mike and I were both 16. G'pa had him put down for health suffering without me knowing. Justified, wise and kind, I can see now, but still very devastating, even now. He was like the image on the Purina bags, way back. Wet eyes when I think of him. Can still feel him in an imagined hug. Would roll a green grape around in his mouth, skin unbroken forever, or right out the other side of his mouth if I even briefly turned away. LOL! Dog had a very big heart for his dumb kid.

I did some winter grilling last night. Not a bad setup.
"Huli Huli Chicken.". One of my favorites.
If anyone is interested, here's the recipe I follow. https://www.plainchicken.com/grilled-huli-huli-chicken/
Well, it's the one I sort-of follow. I add green onion and pineapple juice (might have to try crushed pineapple sometime), and sub cinnamon for the ginger. The marinade gets boiled down to thicken up (and kill any nasties). Oh, and I used Kinders BBQ sauce in place of ketchup this time.
