White: I bought that Lisle tool years ago. It really makes adjusting the lights easy. I tried a set of LED bulbs a long time ago, and they were horrible. If I put LED's in the headlights, I'll want (need) to try a set in the Hellas, and that would be a PITA.
LOL... I know the feeling. My fog lights need some too. BIG thanks @akdoggie for the hookup on those!
It looks like there's no viable LED H3 bulb available, so the Hellas will stay halogen no mm matter what I end up doing. Yes, I could put a light bar in instead, but the 500's just look so good!
Does any one of you know what color my grille is supposed to be? It's becoming faded, and I'd like to give it a refresh. Black would probably look fine, but it tends to disappear in pics I've seen if other ones painted this color. This looks like some dark gray merallic, but different than the DSG body color (?).
- and I really like the pattern. I took the time to aim them as well as I could.... even bought the Lisle tool for doing Ford headlights. I didn't get flashed at all, which is a win. I'd decided that if I was getting negative response from other drivers, I was going to discontinue using them.
4mm is it? Got my Lisle a cpl yrs ago from NAPA; an order if I recall. ~$13??? Cannot imagine adjusting them without it, and add the difficulty in adjusting w/o a special tool, to modern engineers' list of "crimes."
In the SF Bay Area, "little law infractions" are ignored, so LEDs are common, and blinding all the time. Folks don't even dim their lights, in the CITY... a forgotten skill. I run mine low. Crowded freeways rarely allow high beams, having few 500 ft opportunities. I can run highs in a city 40 zone and bother noone, and use them on the freeway without bothering too. I still like good halogen optics. You light up a truck lid hugely, but nothing enters their rear window. Zip. Nada.
Nice 390 vid. The '62 interceptor, 3/4 race, was estimated at 375 HP. No common factory Dyno to rate it. What did later 390's have? Dad managed to get his uncle's Monterey to 16 mpg, at a steady 50, LOL !
Come to think of it, that's the exact box I used as an electro-mechanical prototyper in 1984. Almost as smooth as silk. Delight to use, if you have to work out of a box on a bench.
Posted the same box about 3 pages back for Bill and White to see. Bill mentioned the old Green Felt they don't use anymore. Found one on e bay w/the green if you scroll back a bit.
But yea, other than that, glad to see they still make it. Didn't know that.
That's cool, yea I think they all are brown. Yea those vintage Machinist boxes were sweet new or reconditioned. I was hung up on these back in the day, Kennedy Mach box grn felt/wool, -
