Thinking
Damn...definitely no Cessna ride putt putt lol.
A P51 , Hell yes! That's incredibly cheap. The P51 and T6 are kind of similar, wings are a little different, P51 was quite bit heavier, had the larger engine and could out climb a T6 with ease. Straight out and level, it wasn't much faster than the six....maybe 25 or 30 mph faster.
Either plane would be a trip for sure. Excellent b-day treat!

My "flight-for-fuel" cost in the T6 will be about $250.
The P-51 would be a whole different experience, I'm sure. With about 3x the HP, (1720 HP vs 600 HP) but less than 2x the weight, the P51 would be a heckuva ride. Top speed: 440 MPH vs. 208 MPH, Climb rate: 3200 ft/min vs. 1200 ft/min.

Is it close to home ? You're going for it right ?
Shoot I thought 675 was a deal for the experience. Do you have your wings, does he only have the one?

He lives up in Denver, so only a couple hours' drive. Absolutely, I'm going! Just need to figure out when. (Maybe Oct 7/8 or the following weekend.)
He has just the T6. He flew airshows for years, but now just does aerobatics instruction. (I imagine the travel schedule got old.)
I'm not a pilot, but I've flown right seat in a Cessna 172 and have a little time in a sailplane. Neither will compare to this! (I'm hoping he'll give me a little stick time, though!)

That's actually one of the articles I read on it, LOL.

No, it's an iJoy Visionne 4K. I picked it up last year for about $25 on a closeout site. I've actually not used it for anything more than testing to this point. It uses the same sort of mounts as a Gopro, so I figure he might have something already in place.
I should probably wring it out a little before counting on it for anything.
