I can't explain it, but the darn thing is working now. I replaced the rear sensor with the original and now it shows speed/odometer. I guess the rear turns the speedometer itself by what just came about. That is strange in my opinion. Oh well, it works now.

Well, a u-joint it was. I am very disturbed to find Precision's are now Chinese made. One of them was missing a few of the needle bearings. Glad I saw that before I installed it.

Yikes. That could've been a terrible mistake to not notice.

Makes sense in a way. Vss in trans controls shifts primarily, while sensor in rear end controls speedo solely. Keep the two separate, no fuzz of any difference in their electronics programming if they aren't programmed alike to where everything is completely synced and indifferent. Trans might use different signal coding to operate than the speedo is designed to read, while the trip meter is so simple it was easy to get programmed in line with the vss.

Who knows, maybe what I'm saying is just all gibberish. Lol

Just my thought on the situation though. Interesting to know either way, seeing I have an e4od.

Glad you figured it out. I doubt I would have unless it broke. Well, now I know.

Debating whether or not to order a accelerator cable. Mine is so stretched there's a bump in it by the TB...like a hill lol.

I found something yesterday for yuh while going over customer complaints and known problems with the gen 10 F150's. The 2WD resale value came up during that adventure, -

Of course the 98's are worth 5000 more. And the 98 4X4's are priceless.

Lol still funny to think back in 03, my dad paid $7k for our truck, and we've had it since then. Had around 125k on it back then.

I bought my blue 98 Scab 4x4 in June 2010 for $5200, with 115k miles. The blue book on it is still $6500 plus the shell. I hate to say it but it is going to go away this summer. I'm going to keep lil Red (another 98) and use him in the winter this year. Blue only has 125,400 miles on him as of today. The original sticker for Blue was $28,430 in 1998. It came with all the receipts on the truck.

Yea, it's sad you have to watch for that stuff, seems like more than ever. Sort of like when I replaced the banjo bolts. It was hard to notice, but the holes/channels for brake fluid weren't completely drilled out, - stopped just short of completion. That would of have put a crimp in things had I not noticed and installed them like that.
