EDIT: Guess I should mention, the phones today fit in there. Installed the stereo 20 years ago (Pioneer Supertuner)...it wouldn't fit a phone back then. Phones eventually thinned up with time. I recall having the ability to wedge one there at one point. Deep pocket though. Trucks not here , can't get a pic.
Not my truck, I'm not near the truck, it's at one of my kids right now. I got a double din with navigation and all that stuff so my mad cow riddled brain remembers where I'm going.
I just grabbed a pic from one for sale online.

I need this exact piece (the bezel)... it's kind of rare to find these around here without the ESOF ***** in there. This truck has a manual t-case like me.

It's actually the same as the one with the esof switch. You can add or remove that switch panel. They have plenty of those at my local junkyard without the esof. You could just get the one with esof, then order the blank plate if you can't find it in the junkyard.
Also, the metra and scosche aftermarket head unit kits replace that entire section.

It was 80 degrees on Tuesday. Yesterday they turned 1700 South in SL into a river because the snow was melting too fast. And today.... it snowed.

It's supposed to hit 70 this Sunday and then snow on Tuesday. Lol. Make up your damn mind weather.

Maybe you could repurpose the **** for something else, or fill the hole with something like a dual USB port?

I actually something on my Ranger. I used the bezel from an Explorer, which has a rear wiper switch in the bezel. I needed a fog light switch after I ordered fogs. So, I repurposed that hole for the wiper switch.

DeWalt is bringin' it!

EDIT: I have the DCF899, and although it's not tested in this video, it comes to play. It's a serious unit!

He thought you were bluffing, apparently? Did they try and give you more money? Ask what it would take to get you to stay, etc.?
