I'll be right over, Phil. Save some for me!

Found this video of my Buddy's vert beating up on a Camaro.

I was bored today and had the bright idea to call a shop and ask how much it would cost to do my exhaust manifolds. All I can say is I’m glad we do our own work, lol.

I wanted to make a game out of it and have you guys guess the price but that’s as dumb as the price I was given. $1900. My truck isn’t even worth $2k. 😂

That's probably right. He said that's Book cost with taking into account my broken studs. In the same breathe he said "That's got to be close to the value of your truck so you might want to think about something else." So I agreed and told him to give me a price on a Reman engine with install. That call tomorrow should be a hoot. If I had a bigger space I wouldn't care and I'd drudge through the motor swap.

$11,000

$11,000 is the out the door price for installing a Jasper engine. I don't know what it's like everywhere else these days but I really think Shops and companies just don't want to bother working on anything that's 10 years or older. I think they price the jobs out so high most people have no choice but to buy a new vehicle.

If I were back home in Michigan I know plenty of at home mechanics would do something like this for $1500. Hell, I might drive the truck back to Michigan to my buddies house and spend a weekend doing it with him and have bonfires every night. ..actually, I think that's great idea. That's what I'll do. lol

That's cause you live in a city of rich people and high taxes and high cost insurance and expensive land.
Call someone on Franklin or Surry.
Those areas are probably a lot more likely to need the work and have lower costs.
I'm not making a recommendation, but I bet Rhodes Garage in Windsor would be considerably less. But I don't know what Jasper charges for engines.

I believe they are around $6k, but that was a while ago and I don't remember precisely for what truck (there was something for sale with a bad engine but it was not cheap enough).

LOL, Thought we finally made a deal. Cleaned out the trailer, serviced everything over the weekend, planned to head down there Tuesday. Guy texted me Monday night, claimed he didn't realize the front bumper, grill, header panel (not sure what that is) and tailgate were already spoken for. Actually, those are fine on the 98. So, not a big deal. However and without going into detail, there was quite of bit of unnecessary work dealing with this guy. Not a straight shooter, makes it a little difficult trusting what he says....otherwise I may have of pursued further. Unfortunately, this one has lost it's appeal after that nonsense... combined. Noticed quite a few more I may be interested in south of here. Also noticed pricing car vary quite a bit from yard to yard.
