I did not start cleaning my '99 intake in the master bath show..... Wait.... Yes... Yes, I did.
And it may or may not now be in the dishwasher.
A question for the knowledgable ones here: Is replacing the IAC while I have everything apart recommended? Methinks the answer is "yes." (The current one is probably original with over 200K miles.)

And dishwashers are great at cleaning auto and motorcycle parts.
Intake looks great.
Thanks, noob. It came out of the dishwasher clean, but more oxidized than when it went in. :-/ (I probably should've tried vinegar instead of detergent.) Some work with a couple of brass brushes and a Dremel with the same attached, though, prepped it well for the self-etching primer and Duplicolor Cast Aluminum engine paint, and the mating surfaces are again smooth and shiny.
That looks like the Seymour Cast Iron color that my Buddy uses on cast iron transmissions. He also uses their Alumiblast on aluminum and I really dig both of them.
