Any of you ever used the Metra double DIN installation kit? How do you pull the radio back out once it clicks in? This POS doesn't even fit right and they didn't design a way to pull it back out!?! Unbelievable!

I'm going to check out that black fox body Mustang tomorrow.
I guess he got over spray on it.
He wants me to clean it up and sell it.

I will let you know how much, gonna try and get the car soon.

I've used it on my 97 F150 and on a 04 explorer.
I haven't removed a unit in years but I recall using a couple flat plastic pieces between the radio and the surrounding plastic mount.

Edit,
I was just reminded by my daughter that the plastic cards didn't work and we used a butter knife in the tight space between the radio and mount and wiggled the radio. Then it moved out a bit and pulled out easily then.

Edit 2,
Daughter is the one who usually keeps messing with things and coming up with ideas that keep me from using severe force to create irreversible consequences that cost $ and time to go to the parts store or supply house.

I figured this out after a nap.

You need to insert two small screwdrivers under the outside tabs and then pry it forwards. I should have made a video butt needed at least one more hand, so I'll eventuality make a write-up. I'm still modifying stuff to make it work. This is by far the worst radio installation kit I've ever used!

When I installed my double-DIN, I ended up returning the kit I bought and used thick closed-cell weatherstripping along the sides to fill the gap. Pics are in the thread linked in my sig.

I put the new seal kit on my OEM 87 LX tails. every clip was fine, so now I've got a bag of spare clips. Anyway.... I wanted to see how it's going to look, so I put them in for a minute.

Since I made such a mess filing plastic dash parts, after successfully getting the radio installation done, I did a full interior recon today. Boy did it need it! I had to change the water three times just on the plastics.
