Myself, didn't miss the holidays by missing them one bit and having a great time. Much more to say but I'm sure no one wants to read a travelog--right AK?

Brew and others interested. There are some serious off road vehicles here. Hill climbing and rock climbing are a hoot to watch.

White, met a guy from Oregon recently who spent a good hour complaining about the driving in SLC. Made me think of what you would say when the snow started falling and the idiot drivers. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Glad to hear from you man, dang, - missed you yesterday. Thank your insurance provider for me, at least we get to hear from you once in awhile.....like once a year maybe ...

I've known what goes on in Carlsbad, probably from the age of 12 while pursuing a Motorcross interest way back when. Never been there, it was mention often in Motorcross action news/media....popular place for that kind of fun. I believe that's where the Super bike challenge races were held at one time. Open class racing (500cc). Where they combined Motorcross, Enduro and Flat track racing into one large track.....the ultimate race for those with a passion for that stuff.

You must be far of the grid, did you purchase a cave dwelling in the mountains out there ? That would be cool as hell... Depending upon where you are, I'm guessing there's no towers and very limited satellite exposure out there.

Anyway yea, thanks for checking in, hope to hear from you soon, take care.

The ultimate rock crawler did great imo. A few easy to fix issues, but that was to be expected....nothing major tho!

I call that a big success. That thing is going to be a mean machine when finished, it already is, - and very set up to handle problems on the trail. Something going to break eventually with someone in the group. That truck is going to be equipped!

The stick welding set up he installed on his rig is going to be priceless on the trail. I'd like to see him add another battery and go with better quality. A couple Odysseys would do the trick...that would be a nice upgrade and easier on the alternator when a predicament arises. And it will lol.

Yea, having someone like Paul on trail with yuh is a huge asset to everyone in the group. Could definitely save someone from having a very bad day and a speedy fix thus getting right back into the fun of the adventure.

Excellent work from him, fun to watch.

I told Fab Rats recently that they've even passed Vice Grip Garage as my favorite YT channel. While I was doing my exhaust last weekend, I kept wishing I had his exhaust bender, LOL.

BTW, I got the Motive pressure bleeder yesterday. Had to make sure it fit the Mustangs.... and it does. The F150 uses the same cap, I know that for sure. Not so certain on the Escape's though. Now I need to buy a bunch of brake fluid, lol.

Yea, Paul showed me a new way to tap or cut threads using a drill motor. I mean, I've thought about it before sure, but never went through with it in fear of breaking the tap in the process. I've seen him do this many times now and never breaks one. From what he has said, he didn't use cutting oil in the past. He does now tho, uses Tap Magic I think he said lol...I use Oatey cutting oil. But yea, tapping will be a little easier now lol.

I've never had to use a pressure bleeder on older vehicles. The 150 is very easy to flush without one. If it was 4WADS I might make use of one.

LOL... I use Kroil for cutting oil for steel. I noticed our old maintenance guy using it years ago, and gave it a whirl. It works better than some cutting oil I've used before. But, I've never used Tap Magic. I've seen some other guys (fabricators) using Kroil too on YT.

On brass and aluminum, I've always used CRC 3-36, but that is just out of habit... one of those "that's the way I've always done it" things.

I didn't "bench bleed" Frankie's master when I put it in. I think it has some air in there somewhere. I talked to a guy in the local Fox group, and he experienced a similar issue putting Baer brakes on his. He got it all out with this bleeder.

Like Ohio mentioned on vacuum bleeder.... they suck. I've had the shiddiest luck with vacuum bleeders. I also have a reverse bleeder that I hate. So... I'm giving this a whirl, lol.

Yea, Paul just sticks the tap in the drill sticks it in the hole and pulls the trigger and it works! I use to get a smile on my face every time he does that. Thinking for sure he's going break it this time or screw up the threads at the start. Nope, he accomplishes it without a problem....every time so far.

I have to try that now. My luck, I'll bust one off and be there half the day with a hammer and chisel attempting to shatter the damn tap until it falls out lol.

As I recall, he's using a 1/4" impact too, right? Just wondering how he's holding onto the tap....

EDIT: I suppose something like this would work out great:

Amazon Amazon

That might work!

I use this with the 1/4", -

Amazon Amazon

I've tried a few of these in the past, that one has held up over the years. However, it's 3/8 max. I use it all the time, best speed chuck for the 1/4" impact imo.
