Thinking
Edit. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Verizon tonight. One thing that is pretty cool they are doing with the 5G home internet is they auto speed test your connection randomly. It all gets logged. So for instance, when I called tonight and complained that I've has to reboot it 8 times, and the D/L speeds have been awful, he could look at the logs and confirm. He too was baffled why most of the time my upload speed is faster than downloading. Anyway, he agreed with me that the modem is problematic, and they're sending a new one to me.

So one of our wonderful buyers bought a 2012 5 series at auction, needs about 5 grand in just parts, including a 2500 dollar headlamp assembly. i hear the toilet bowl filling as we speak
Coils kept failing. Under warranty my dad didn't really care. As soon as the warranty was over he cared as (per his story) the dealer wanted $400 to change a single coil. I ended up replacing about a coil per year. It kept having other stupid problems that I fixed.
In ~2009 the battery failed. Car wouldn't jump start either. He paid to have it towed to dealer. He claims they wanted $1200 to replace the battery. It would need a "special" battery and a battery management computer reset.
I told him I could get a battery but I had no idea how to reset any computer. He had me replace the battery and there is a fckin computer bolted to the top of the battery. Got is all in and back together, lights come on and car answers the remote and ......... Yep, still no start. It must really need that computer reset.
That car sat in the garage, unmoved, until he died in 2013. And was still in that same spot when my mom died in 2020. Neither me nor my siblings wanted to inherit it after hearing the stories of it's constant problems.
Looked brand new and had like 30K miles and sold for $4k in 2020.
I'm not a fan of Deutschland Autos.
I have to say, it makes me feel pretty darn good when the VP wanted to personally meet with me and thank me for choosing to work with them and our hiring manager, GM and the P&S director all wanted me to sit in on the interviews and wanted my opinion of who i would rather work beside. And the GM said you put up with someone with a bad attitude long enough, you need someone back there who has a good attitude
First bad experience with Dorman...for me anyway.
They shipped me a exhaust manifold with a totally screwed up EGR port. No way that's going to seal. Guess I'll have to suffer the return process....man I hate that. So much for quality control at that place.
