Thinking
EDIT, that was strange, I didn't get your full post at first.
Still not sure on everything you said. Your jumping ahead anyway, - did you confirm LS for yourself.....did you look in the door ?

No. You swap the whole housing and axles together. Remove the 4 Ubolts from the springs, remove the brake cable end from the drivers side attachment and unscrew your brake hose and drop the driveline and it's out on the ground. I did mine, using 2 bare wheels on my driveway and it took 2 hours to swap in and out by myself. If I'd had help, take 30 minutes off that time. You just roll out the old assy, swap the bare wheels to the new assy and roll it under the truck. You don't have to have it up so high with bare rims.
This may be the least of my problems presently, but,
No limited slip in rear diff and just a plain 3.55 and I added friction modifier as well. Waste of money, as well as driving to dealership to get it.
What friction is there to "modify" when it's non existent to begin with ?
Too much generic advice from Google and YouTube.
Friction modifier on a Ford Rear Diff, is vehicle specific.
Not a one size fits all.
Excuse me for thinking out loud.
