Then this confirms "friction modifier" is unnecessary for my axle. My vehicle needs straight 75w140.

The silvery oil was contaminating everything. All bearings & seals. Cleaning out the axle tube is the hardest part... aside from setting the crush washer to give the right contact point, using the yellow paint seen in the kit.
