I had a 72 Torino fastback in high school. 351C 4V with 4 speed. Banana yellow. ugly brown interior. Modded with 4.57 gear, big cam, 850 dbl pump, headers, single plane intake, etc. Daily driver when I only needed to go a couple miles a day. Sold it 1985 ish. Too bad on fuel for poor electrician apprentice me to get to work and back.

Fast forward to ~1995 and much better financial situation.

I found another 72 fastback sitting in guys backyard with decade old plates on it. Banana yellow with uglier green interior. worn out 351C 2V and automatic.
I removed engine , trans, and interior. Cars don't really rust much around here so I took it to body shop (who had it forever) for a color change. Found a bucket seat interior from a cougar and had them recovered black. Installed a slightly modded 460 and e4od (used a Baumann trans controller), 3.50 gears, Tires & wheels wide as I could fit, etc. Finished ~1997. Probably had ~$10K in 1997 dollars in it. Nice riding car.

Drove it around a lot back then. Family got bigger and it got used less. 2009 I noticed that when I renewed the registration that I hadn't driven it in over a year. It just sat in the garage.
While I loved the car it didn't fit my needs anymore. It just became a melancholic symbol of decade past. I put it on Ebay with a 15k starting bid and someone came by to look at it and offered 18K and took it with them.

This made me want to see what another one would cost. I sold to cheap (but that was 11 years ago).
And they need to put the dual sport mirrors on that car.

****, Went back and looked at the auction. That car is in Virginia? Now I gotta keep telling myself " Do not go look at it." and " You sold the last one because you didn't play with it" and the biggie " YOU DON"T HAVE THE MONEY" !!

The sail panels on the 71 to 73 were just awful. The fastbacks were OK. The rear windows were useless.
How can the 71 to 73 be considered in the same gen as the 64?
1969 fastback was my dream car in my younger days. Now that I could possibly afford one, I don't want one.

When I sold that car the people contacted me through Ebay. After I told them where I was we set a time to meet. They arrived in a rollback and once the price was set (they did keep saying cash) they had an old, army looking duffel and pulled out stacks of $50 bills. They had actual huge amounts of cash in something that looked like a bag a hobo would carry. I made them wait while I went to the bank and had the bank assure me they weren't counterfeit.

That was very smart! You never know anymore. It's worse now, though. The Walmart my be just had a bunch of phony fives passed to them at the end of 2020. The local police department was offering a reward.... makes me wonder if they found the counterfeiters?

My dream Mustang is a 70 Boss 429. I want one so bad. I'll settle for a regular 70 Fastback though, LOL.

We talked about this a while back.... Utah levied the fines on Diesel Brothers.

Makes me think maybe I ought to go ahead and register my Mustangs as "Antiques" or whatever they call it now.

Go to the *******s that sued them's website. Living causes pollution so you should all freeze to death cause all heat causes pollution. No wood burning, use gas. No gas burning, just die.
I'm in no way saying what Diesel Bros was doing is right but the UPHE lawyers and disciples are nutz. When did just living become a crime?
I don't like the death for any humans but giouteening lawyers is OK as lawyers ain't human.

Waiting for JBrew to find the Homage to JBrew thread.

Will he be honored or view it as a personal attack?
I hope he sees it as the light hearted ribbing created to bring a bit of humour.

Lord have mercy on anyone who uses that thread for any technical help.

Well, it only took me about 17 months to finally find and buy a tailgate inner protective panel. It's coming all the way from South Carolina, but it's coming. $31 for shipping is really reasonable for that sized item to ship. Oh well, I did find a new one so I'm good. LOL
