Thinking
Words are failing me at the moment, Shane, except to say I'm keeping you and her in my prayers.
EDIT: You've probably already been looking at and been given all kinds of information, but this Cleveland Clinic article is spot on when saying that "heart failure" is a frightening term. I found it interesting and reassuring. For instance, I didn't know that the normal EF range is 55% to 70% to begin with, and that at 40%,to 55%, sometimes there aren't even symptoms.

White,
I'm really hoping things get better for y'all quick. People come back from bad spots all the time.
If I were near you I would offer to feed your dog or make sure your kids got to school and stuff.
Thoughts and prayers, yeah you got them.

Thank you guys. I actually had a conversation with my next door neighbor earlier in regards to the "normal" or acceptable range of heart operating percent. I knew 100% would not be something to be expected, so thank you for those numbers Andy. The next door neighbor was going to ask his step father, a recently retired cardiologist. Now I know.
They just did another EKG. She is having some pains again. They also gave her more nitro. The hope was to send her home tomorrow, but that looks like a pipe dream at the moment. Scary thing is, they have been "reviewing" her stats, etc for 90 minutes and haven't come with any news.

So, there was another heart attack this afternoon, albeit small. They went back in, and the tear has enlarged - but not enough to warrant surgery still. She is currently in ICU. I am home because the ICU does not allow overnight visitors. Why the ICU? She is on a constant nitro drip. Getting somewhat hard to keep my chin up right now. I've never been more scared and confused. This is such a freak thing.

I got two bits of good news. Most importantly, She did really well overnight. They have started to reduce the nitroglycerin drip. They are actually letting her sleep on this floor too, so that ought to help.
The second bit of good news is I found out we are keeping our current health insurance going into next year. There was some talk about possibly moving to another provider which does not utilize the U of U. That would have been an issue big enough for me to seek another plan if I had to.
This also helped brighten things up today.... Coyote in a C7? Yep.
