Happy Thanksgiving everyone. My truck is still running strong (leaking oil) and hanging in the fleet. I thought for sure after getting the 12' trailer and the V8 Jeep I'd get rid of the truck but I guess not.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Has anyone checked on rockauto lately? I was going to order some cheap bronco pieces and shipping was 200% more than the parts. Kinda surprised me a bit.

The last time I went shopping for parts, Amazon was within a few dollars of RA after they added their shipping charges. Couple this with the difficulty of returns with RA, and I ended up getting almost everything from Amazon. Sad, really. They used to be a bargain.

What I've bought from RA, recently, beat everyone on the planet, even with shipping.

Theres probably a seasonal spike in shipping costs. I priced shipping 4 car springs in 2 boxes to the east coast via FedEx, and they wanted over $400!

Well, I'm done with BFG KO2's. This set hasn't worn any better than the last with the added bonus of some cupping even with regular pressure checks and rotations. They're only at about 50%, but I'm having a set of Falken AT3W's installed this afternoon.

Small caveat; Amazon is in process of altering refund/returns. It's been costing them from abuse, above what restricting the most blatant can achieve for their bottom line. In the first wave, an unopened phone sent in 2 days took ~5 weeks to be refunded. I think a week or two for inspection should be enough. Dunno if the future brings reasonable restocking fees or what. For a time, Prime folks get $6/mo Netflix free for a year, w Prime.

Reviews: Early dry rot. Noisey unless rotated often. A tad under ideal on dry pavement, but better otherwise. Hmmm. What's your thinking, or use, Ohio? (I'm on dry pavement a lot. And hate tire noise. I wanna hear the eng & trans.)

My decision was made based on positive reviews on and outside of Tire Rack, multiple forum posts praising them, and test results where the AT3W outperformed most every AT tire in all categories. The "dry rot," I would probably attribute to the use of bad tire dressing (i.e. ArmorAll), and as for the noise, outside of a few reviews griping, most were quite positive saying they were one of the quieter AT's they'd experienced, including people who reviewed them at 20K and almost 50K. They can't be worse than the last two sets of BFG's.

Oh, use case: Colorado. . Majority pavement, 30% gravel /dirt, 10-15% rutted/rocky/unimproved forest road. Snow traction was a big factor.

Thanks...! I'm surprised your reviews seem significantly opposed to theirs. And I've always been a fan of the *Original* Armour All - not you? What's better for tires?

I used to not mind mounting, balancing, rotating, but at 70-something, I like Costco, Sears being closed. Costco just has so v v few AT tires for pickups. Looking at Wheelworks, but few choices also. I carry only occasionally and tow almost never, so I'm even thinking of fewer sidewall plies.
