Thinking
You must be a bit older than me. I graduated in '81.
In High School we could leave them in our cars or trucks but not in the school building or at events. No one checked at events for concealed though.
Hunting season started in Nov and many redneck trucks would have shotguns in the window racks.
The school had a shooting club but they had to go to a range to actually shoot.
Now, no firearms at all except for parents with a carry permit and must be picking up their child and only in the parking lot or the designated pick up location in the school, usually the clinic.

83 here, no guns in or around the school, no shooting clubs offered there. You could get into a club at the shooting range, pretty cool if you were really into it.. Skeet and BB gun wars with the gang was most definitely a good time....if you weren't shoot in the fingers....painful. Paint ball wasn't a thing yet,...that would of been a riot on dirt bikes lol.
Then there was the occasional frozen balloon. That left a big impression on friends (enemies too)

83 is graduation?
Just need to be clear....
I need to know if I can change my handle or not.

In Seattle they passed an ordinance that says if the person living in a motor-home claims it is their house it cannot be towed. No matter where it is. Then some jackass thought it was a good idea to build a wooden second story on top of his crappy motorhome parked on the street.WTF!?

I don't know about paintball guns. I hate to clean things as it is, so paint would be a true hell no to me. LOL Water balloons at 50 mph would make a hell of an impact though. We did that.

We were out in the sticks, got away with all that stuff. Dug fox holes, made blinds in the woods, had a little Honda ATC 90 3 wheeler we moved troops on, we could fit 4 on that thing. The Red Ryders were the best rifles, the Crossman 760 pumps hurt the most...that was due to nobody following the 3 pump max rule. They were good for distance. Yea, you had to rush those guys if you could get close enough. They were the snipers more less, but needed time to pump up before each shot. With a lever action Red Ryder or if you got stuck with a couple pistols you could still prevail. Leaving a lot out...but it was war, -fun as hell. lol.
But you seem to be ~ 2 years younger than I.
Can't have a lie in my handle now can I?
The old crossman 760. Worked great in the BB gun wars as sniper. took to long to pump it up for infantry. For infantry we had some rifle that broke at the barrel 1 time for each shot. I wish I remembered what that rifle type was.

There's more to chose from nowadays...man , wish we had a machine gun type BB gun back then....I would of been all over that lol.
The 760 was great at shooting acorns as you could cheat,
The bolt had a magnet to hold the BB. You could pull the bolt to pick up a BB then put the bolt a bit forward and use your thumb to hold the BB while pulling the bolt back to pick up another one or two.
At 10 pumps you could shoot 3 BBs very well and would always knock the acorn out of the tree.
I wish I knew where my old 760 went. Probably parental unit trashed it.
All that was 40 years ago so my memory may be a little cloudy on it all.

Transformers were around back then ? Damn white, you must be a youngin.
Short story, but never forgot it. - Kindergarten teacher (Miss Goosen) stole my favorite Matchbox car for bringing it to school. Oh she warned me once or twice, I ignored her, then sure enough....
I must have been severely traumatized, finally gave up asking for it back sometime around 3rd or 4th grade I think... yea , that went long. Funny thing, I recall the lesson learned part and the teacher most vividly (scary large woman with Elvis hair and a mustache), but can't seem to remember what the dang car looked like. It must of been Ford to be that attached.
