Wasn't out of it yesterday, everything I posted on the mini is correct, there is some nice parts there for what you want to do and for the budget. Your welcome to them.
If you have everything else, an older a mac mini might be the way to go. But not as old as the one I have, it won't accept the memory you would want. There's a work around for that supposedly, but I couldn't get that to fly way back when. Yea , you might be able to pick a newer mini with more capabilities cheap. Not sure how you do that cheaper.
On a completely unrelated topic: Amazon's shipping department strikes again. It was only a small 2M/440 mobile mag-mount antenna in the box, but how it stayed in the package is still a bit mind-boggling.
Usually the issue is one watch battery in a 12x18x4 box, or similar. (Yes, that actually happened )
