Anyone have opinions on equipment trailers/ car hauler? looking to buy either 18' or 20' bumper pull trailer (10k or 14K trailers). Going to be hauling some tractors and other equipment. Theres too many brands and it seems to be just like ford/chevy/dodge. Ive looked at PJ, CornPro, Big Tex, Sure-trac, Diamond-C, and Texas Pride.

What the F... We don't have weather like this here. Very few have AC here because it just doesn't get this hot, ever. They're talking about about all-time records here. I bet some of you look at this with a "meh" but I'll bet money this will lead to heat related deaths on the news here. And it's only June! We usually call this Juneuary because the sun doesn't come out around here until July 5th. But at least I can take comfort knowing that global warming is a myth.

I don't know if this is the "experience" you're asking for.... but here are my 2 cents. My only experience is with a "dump" style ramp. Just be damn sure you can pull your tractors, etc. on it. My BIL let me borrow it to pull a Chevy down to Southern UT, then pull an F150 back. I'm glad we tried the Chevy before we left, because the dump bed was too short. When the bed wanted to raise up, the back tires of the truck were still on the ground. In other words, although the trailer would easily fit the truck, the wheelbase was too long.

yeah I plan to load 2 tractors, so im not going the tilt route. Even with power tilt, I dont trust brakes on a tractor from 1937 and 1943 lol. Itll be a flatbed with a dovetail and ramps

I've used Eager Beaver in the past, - they might be a little too heavy for what your after. Check them out, -

EDIT, - I guess they make some smaller ones now, Easyloaders @ 6T. I'd never purchase one new tho if I could find one used, unless I was having a cash fire...very tuff trailers.

Good morning thinkers!- hope you guys have a great weekend!- my two cents on trailers- (i was looking before i sold my little dozer)-we see a lot of different trailers being pulled in by the contractors- seems like P and J’s are more prevalent here- but they pull everything in here, including semi trailers! Just being a little nosey, i dont see much difference in any of the brands- ( i would go for capacity, and buy for price.)
However, my opinion, if i was going to pull on a regular basis, i would go with a goose neck and mount a removable ball in the bed.
Seems that most the “gentlemen farmers” here in the mill prefer bumper pull stock trailers with a drop down ramp- even if they dont have animals.
I dunno- having a cover might be an advantage(?)
Well, gotta run!- ttyl.

Good morning, and happy Friday my fellow thinkers.

I'm hoping to get some work done on Frankus this weekend. I really needed to service the 'Yota last night, but it rained (finally!!!). And... I didn't want to pull either Mustang out in the rain. This one will just be oil and tire rotation.... next one will be 20K on the trans fluid, and that's where I've been changing it. It has some quirkiness to how it shifts, so I'm trying to get more life from it.... it seems to get much better after a fresh change.

Stuff on tap for Frankie: Fuel pump, fuel level sending unit, fuel filter, inner tie rods, outer tie rods, and a rack seal kit.

Anyone ever done their own rack seals? I might be getting in over my head, LOL. But, I'm going to try it and see. If I fail, I might try and get an SN95 or New Edge rack and make it work.

I can't believe this.... seriously.... a plastic jack, GM? Just how much cost savings did we find here that made this right in your head?

It rained yesterday, and was a possibility today..... doesn't look like that's going to happen though.

The rain is actually why I didn't do maintenance on the 'Yota last night. I didn't want to take either Mustang out of the garage. The Eight Nine because I don't want it wet, and Frankie because the rack leaks like crazy.
