One of my kids has an 2003 explorer with 265K+ miles and another had a 2004 Mountaineer with 250K+ miles. Both had 4.0 engines. Neither take much care for them. The explorer is still her daily driver and the Mountaineer died because of a wreck.
Both engines ran great and even with that many miles neither leak oil.
The 4.0 seems to me to be a good engine.

The big issue with a SOHC 4.0 has always been timing chains. Ford felt it necessary to put one of the chains on the rear of the motor.... so, the trans has to come out to replace it. You can get to the tensioner from the tensioner from the side of the motor, so it is a good idea to replace that on some type of a schedule. Otherwise, great motors.

I am having a tough time deciding between 2 sport trac now. I live in St. Pete F.l so all wheel drive is kind of useless
Truck 1 2010 with 46,000 miles AWD with 4H 4L for $15,000
Truck 2 2007 with 100,000 miles 2WD $8,000
Both trucks rust free and in great shape.
I know the AWD will be higher maintains coast in the long run. but the millage sure is tempting

AK
Do you by chance have the wiring diagram for the base radio in a 2010 sport trac? 12volt.com doesn't have it for some reason. That is where I get them most time
