Brew.... I've got an IDE HD in the freezer right now. Hoping it works! It doesn't make any unusual noises though, so I'm not sure if it'll do the trick.
EDIT: No go on freezing the HD... even got it a little frosty.

Whitey, did you ever install the fogs lights yet on your 97?
Not yet... you should have something in your email today too.
I've been hustling, trying to get this 88 up and going. Spent last night figuring out the fan wiring, and I'm just going to bypass that damn control module. I can't deal with that, LOL.
Hey White, I had to do my first mechanicing job on the 3 valve today. Had a roller follower die on me. Much better access in the 09 to get the valve cover off than my 03. After all the trouble you had I was pretty worried about doing this myself. Turned out pretty good though.
You can see the sixth lobe from the bottom has some wear but it was smooth in the fingernail test.
The trouble I had was due to being lied to about cleaning the pickup tube. Funny thing... when that pickup tube is clogged, it actually starves the motor of oil.
He told me he pulled it off and cleaned it out, but it was chuck full.

Oh wow! That sounds like it could lead to a nightmare of chasing your tail.
This engine sounded nice and smooth when I bought the truck but I was worried about what I would find after pulling the valve cover. For 163xxx mile engine it looks pretty sludge free I think

JP, good to hear from you again.
Somebody correct me if I have this wrong but didn't Ford Performance come out with what they called a "Lash Adjuster Kit with shims" and "Cam Thrust Plates" for the 4.6 3V because of problems like you're having? The kits included the parts that came on the Mustangs which were different than the parts that came on the 3v's used in other vehicles.
Good morning thinkers!- just checking in on you folks- hope everybody is well and good-
we are still running paper- primarily pulp rolls for our sister mill in Jay,Maine. I dont know if it reached your news or not, but earlier this year one of their wood chip digesters exploded!
Thankfully no one was injured or killed-
Shortly after that, one of our blow tanks IMploded!- now we are down to one! This is the blow tank- its about 4 stories tall.
It will be, by best estimates, 3-4 years before its replaced.
You fellers have a great day!- ill do another drive by later!- stay safe fellers!

Glad to be back River! I haven't heard about any kit when I was diagnosing what was wrong but my follower had collapsed below its frame and the edges of the frame are what the marks on the cam are from. I was really worried about opening these 3v heads up tbh.
