My Buddy had an 88 that ran low 14's/high 13's with 2.73's in this elevation. All we did was headers and a Cartech/Comp Cams upper intake. I don't know if you ever saw this intake, Ohio... but it was a pretty good improvement over the stock upper. I ran one for a couple of years until I switched to the Explorer lower and Downs Ford upper.
Even though it wouldn't idle for ****, it definitely seemed quicker speed density. There has always been something about 88's that a lot of people (including myself) swear they were faster than the rest of the herd.
That kind of like the 97/98 F150's. They do everything little better than their younger brothers of that gen. Have real truck bumpers up front, look more like a truck, better. AND seem to last allot longer.
We are at about 4200 ASL in SLC. Where I live now is about 800 more.... just over 5000 feet.
I think we were wondering if one of these Daytona cross beams would fit on the new Pittsburgh 3 ton. My Buddy brought this to me as a gift a couple weeks ago, and I forgot to post that it does indeed fit the Pittsburgh jack. All you need is a 10mm allen wrench. I used it to rotate the tires on the 'Yota tonight. It works slick!
Brew, I finally got some"revs" in on camera. I'll get it uploaded soon. It's taking 27 forevers to upload to my server.
I don't recall that beam device being mentioned, but it sure looks like it would come in handy.

Brew: If that's true, why did AK upgrade to the 99+ bumper and valence?

My old beam just dropped in to my old jack. When I picked up the Daytona jack I had a machine shop lathe and drill a new post to fit the Daytona. Works fine but doesn't rotate as easily as the old setup for adjustments when needed.
