Just talked to the owner of Modern Driveline on FB about this new trans. The T5 uses a wider "square" pattern. However, the TKX uses the same pattern as the TKO's, and the SROD. Thought you may like that info.

Spent yesterday "winterizing", and it's a damn good thing I did. We've got 6 inches of snow on the grass and about 8 on the cars. I moved Frankie to the back yard....

Holy moley. What a day. I had to go to Sutton (61m away) and pick up some things and drop off a buddies parts that came in. This was a big aszd mistake. It snowed some last night and had the road all messed up, but all were cleaned and bridges checked after a 5.1 quake on Wednesday. One bridge lost a couple of accent panels, but the overpass itself was sound.

Leaving town, it snowed about 5=6 inches and was coming down fairly heavy. NOT a plow in site. The weather changed 14 miles out and it was rain and no snow anywhere but fog came in for 15 miles. It wasn't too bad to drive in, still some black ice under in spots. That was to change. Mile 48, the snow was coming down so bad, you couldn't see 100' in front of the truck. I got up to my buddies, and I drove up to his house. I stepped out and it was over my knees. That was just from last night until this afternoon. And it stopped for 7 hours he said.

I will say one thing though, Red performed flawlessly in that snow, and I am not running any kind of lug tire. Just a highway/street design by Bridgestone. I am so happy I put in that LS rear axle. Red did step out a few times today, but quickly corrected himself. I'd say I don't think I'm going to run that trip again when it's snowing. I tension you get from a trip like that, up and back, is tremendous. And I'm more than used to this.but today was odd, even for us.

Holy cow, AK! What a trip! Glad to hear Red was up to the task, though. Even though mine isn't a DD any more, I still find myself thinking about re-gearing and putting In the LSD that I saved from the '99. One of these days I might actually quit talking about it and just do it!

Whitey, I took my Mustang out for a spin today, and filled it up and added a dose of Sta-Bil on the way home. It was a "better safe than sorry" move more than anything because it *is* November, after all. (We have a dusting of snow right now, but the possibility of more tomorrow.) As the sun was getting low, I couldn't help but take a pic while she drank up some 91-octane, no-Ethanol goodness.

And now for the reason I actually came here to post: Did you Thinkers know that Project Farm now has a video index?

Wow... that index is sweet! And your Stang looks great. Are you getting our storm from yesterday now? It stopped last night.... but I am sure it's icy outside. I'm taking the F150 to work today, just in case. I pulled the battery out of Frankie, because the F150 is starting kind of slow in the cold. It's a group 65, and I can't remember if these trucks came with a 65 or a 58.

This is one of the most impatient people I've seen on here, and also thinks we are stupid. LOL... his "phone" changed sensor to switch. Yep, sure Buddy.

AK, are chains legal in Alaska? They're illegal here in Michigan but the Travel All I've brought up came with a set and gave them a try up in the UP, Wow, what a difference they make.

There are certain situations when UT actually requires chains to go through canyons, etc. Parley's canyon (the main artery between UT and WY) in particular, ALWAYS is a brutal unit.

Side thought... my daughter gets her license next week. Kind of wondering about putting studded tires on her Escape.... but at the same time wondering if that is a disservice to her by not letting her experience the real deal.

That's a hard one White. When to be the pragmatic parent willing to let their kids learn on their own and when to be a loving, protecting parent. Both choices come with their baked in risks and rewards so is there a right answer? Have you asked her about what she thinks would be best for her and what it is she wants?

About the chains. Now that you mention it I've seen signs out west that refer to "chains required." Makes sense. My first "real" experience with black ice was on 84 along the Columbia River Valley in Oregon. I wish now that I had known what a difference chains would have made back then. I was in that Travel All.

I haven't mentioned it to her yet. Just been keeping that one in my own melon so far, LOL.

On a side note, this is kind of cool. This is my 5th grade teacher. I was with her when the Challenger exploded.... I'll never forget not understanding what was going on until I saw the tears going down her face.
