Other than that, I can't complain for $50, some touch-up paint, and a few hours' time. It's not perfect, but it's far better than the current one.
Damn, couldn't get those scratches out ehh...that sucks. Not easy to do unless you drop another 200 (at least) into it and drop it off at the body shop.

The smaller ones turned out OK, but the color mismatch shows on the larger ones. Most came out smooth, but I was afraid of sanding through the clear (more than I did) on a couple so they have a little indentation. Good enough for me for now.

Just a warning.... A FB friend of mine runs a Firestone, and Federal Tires now have a US Flag on them. It says "Made FOR America" on them..... and elsewhere it says "Made in Taiwan". I believe previously it was just the sticker.... but now it is embossed in the tire.

Soooo.... buyer beware!

I put the hood back on the 88 today.... and I found it weird that the temp gauge didn't get as hot with it back on. I thought being open like that with no hood would make it cool off better.

My thoughts: With a hood on the car, the relatively smooth airflow under the car creates low pressure on the engine compartment, drawing air through the radiator. The airflow over an open engine compartment, however, is turbulent, and will not induce a venturi effect, and any draw generated by airflow under the car simply sucks it down through the larger, unrestricted opening left by the missing hood.

I've seen more than once that a person with overheating problems fixed it be replacing the seal between the hood and firewall. This car for sure needs that seal, but the raised cowl pretty much makes that pointless. It currently has air going in the ram air holes, and straight out the cowl... so I don't think a seal would do much, LOL. I do know that on my 89, I removed the broken deflector from below the radiator and it affected the temp by a lot. Luckily my Buddy had a parts car that I robbed one off of. You can get them new again now, but at the time they were unavailable.

I do know this fan clutch is bad, BTW. It's leaking.

I put about 20 miles on it last night.... I absolutely HATE the clutch. I am kicking myself for not putting a new clutch in it now.

Bet you wish it was easier to tell that the clutch was iffy when it was apart.

Exactly. This is the point of the cowl hood. Creates a pressure differential for air flow that isn't choked by air flow over or under the vehicle.
