When I imported the truck, I had the AC recharged but now, a couple of years later, it's stopped working again so I've been looking on RockAuto and see they do a pretty comprehensive replacement kit which might be the easy way to fix things since I don't intend to part with the truck anytime soon

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=10848408

But they do 2 different kits, same parts in both except for the colour of the Orifice Tube, Red or Blue

I'll admit I have no idea on AC stuff (or the right equipment) so will be having a garage here do the work but how do I know which colour orifice tube I need or do I just order 1 kit plus the other colour tube as a just in case?

When I 1st had it recharged, they said they would be happy for me to source parts as it's not a system they usually buy parts for so whilst the kit has most parts, is there anything else I might need whilst we are at it?

They will be supplying the gas as it's not something joe public can easily buy here...
Adrian, don't you have on 03 HD?

Guess who this made me think of....

Though, I'm sure it won't take three years.

Cheers,

Looking further, the extra tube is only £0.30p so it's a bit of a no brainer to just order them both and see which one we need when we take it apart

If I had found that answer yesterday when I was looking around their site I wouldn't have asked the daft question...

Next daft question, is it worth saying sod it and replacing the lines whilst we are at it, make it an almost new system???

Rockauto do the lines too so I can order everything at once

Won't be ordering any in cab parts, don't really want to take the dash apart...

I've not been able to work on it much this week... I've had a really rough time at work. Not going to go into specifics, but it's been the hardest time for me at work ever. I am not a very happy person at the moment, and my stress levels are absolutely through the roof. Sorry I haven't been around much the past few days, but my mind is not in a good spot right now.

So, my timing pretty much sucks.

Sorry to hear you're going through a bad time, Whitey. Hoping it turns around quickly for you.

Well yesterday was a good one for parts. A buddy needed some for his 99 and I found a whole 99 truck for 400 with almost perfect body. The 4.6 was locked up by the timing chains, but that didn't matter as the body parts are what he wanted.

It had the 8.8 rear that he's swapping over to his 4.2 SBRC truck. Since it was a 373 carrier, he's swapping both front and rear. Also swapping the box and front end parts. I even talked him into swapping the doors. He's going to be happy, and it was even the correct color. Luckily there are a ton of parts I can get off this also, so it's a win win.
