I wish i had 30 of them LOL. I have a couple friends that have their own dentside junkyard. I am jealous... once we move tho we will be acquiring much more property than 1/2 acre so I will slowly start building my colletion! (tractors too not just trucks)

Correct on the FE360! (maybe one day itll be a 390) I never took the vac hose off when I originally was setting the timing cz at the time I was struggling to even get it to run so I didnt get super detailed. I have been meaning to go back and time it better and I will take the vac hose off. I will keep the 4 degrees in my notes and start with that to see how it improves, I hope to one day get to the point that I can hear that too

and this sure does have a strong exhaust smell... was bleeding the power steering in the garage the other day (before my brakes were bled or else I wouldve pulled it out) but the garage door was open... didnt take long to set off the extra smoke detector I had just sitting in there LOL

2100.....I believe in 74-75 it is 8 degrees BTDC but some are set at 6. Depending on what box is on the fender. Blue tag is 8, Brown is 2 off, etc. Different setups for high climates etc. I think it will even be better running when you get it set 100%. Sounds good when loaded though. Love the old FE blocks, just hate the freaking weight of them. LOL

A few weeks ago I was in Engine Parts Warehouse here and saw a set of aluminum heads for the FE engines. Not bad at about 1100 for the set. That would take 100 pounds or more off that motor with an aluminum intake. That would make that bad boy light and have so much more power. I hadn't seen them before up here, but there was a set on the shelf. He said they sell a set a month. I found that hard to believe but he said most go to the boats but that there are a lot of old F150-F250's still plugging on around here to make stocking them a necessity.

My neighbor has 2 of them in his driveway. One appears to be a 74/75 Highboy, and the other is a long bed 2WD.... about 74/75 too.

I never knew about the stuff, but based on some of the comments, it sound like it was a short-lived, well-intentioned but bad idea.

Yeah I had it in an engine. Never again. That crap would find any possible escape and would coat a motor with itself. It was nasty as hell to work with. But, it did keep older engines quieter for a bit. IT was too messy to, excuse the term, Mess with, so I never used it again. Like Pennzoil, it had a nasty smell when it was time to change. Nasty.

Playing around Facebook Marketplace today, I found these 18's for 200 for the set. I ended up paying 160 for them. Since I'm swapping stripes this summer, I thought that I would shake up the look also with these 18's. I'm currently running 19's, but 18's ride better in the Mustang. I have a full set of spare tire sensors also, so I'm golden all around. Anyways......score one for my column.

Not sure if you guys are interested in this, but I thought it was really cool how he made his own terminals.

This is the crimping tool I just used to do "The Big 3" on the Toyota, and it worked really well.

Just so happens yesterdays "Engine Power" was about building an 390. 36 degrees advance and 580 some HP and 550 some torque pounds. They used Trick heads and a Comp marine cam and hydraulic lifers, Eagle rods and don't remember the pistons with 1 mm rings except the last which was 2 mm. It was possibly the best sounding engine on a dyno I've heard. None of that chocking, dye\stall sound most engines have at the high end. Impressive engine built from a 70's salvage yard block.
