I still have parts from the '99 that I've "been going to put on (insert sales avenue here)" and haven't. There are even a few things I snagged for cheap at the U-Pull-n-Pay like auto-dimming mirrors, an extra door handle with keypad, a set of taillights, etc. that I thought I'd flip. Nope. Still in the garage, still in boxes, and still in the way. I need to get on the stick as well.

Yeah my one main set of HF 6ton jacks is under the recall. The same set that was under my highboy for a about 4ish months while I did a rear axle swap and then the front axle swap. The rear only was up the day I swapped out the axles but the front was under there for 4 months while I did all the work. Need to check my newer set but they are in the storage unit in the city we are moving to. They are pretty new tho so I dont know if they are an issue. Spent the last week building this Greene&Greene inspired blanket chest and got a new fuel gauge installed in the highboy so when we move in a month I dont have to play a guessing game of how much gas is left in my 14gal tank being used up by a FE360 in a 40ish yr old truck during a 160 mile road trip lol

Ohio, I have so many "just in case" parts going on. Some of it pans out, like when I saved all of my power steering parts. BUT, that's all coming back off again soon. So, I guess I'm glad I hung on to my Flaming River rack and steering shaft. I have seats from my Buddy's 92 GT, which I'm not too sure if I'll use or not. Two sets of 5X4.5 wheels and two sets of tires (one set has never been mounted).

2100, where are you moving to? What part of Indiana are you in? That box looks really great. What type of wood is that? Some of it looks like cedar.

Fordguy,

That's a fine looking chest. (score not clap)

I always like the proud, through tenon and you did it well. An accent that doesn't look like something from the Home Depot and glued on. Another family heirloom now.

Fordguy:

Take a look at your stands, and the teeth on the pawl. Upper=bad, lower=good. I'd still return them, but at least you'll know if you've cheated the reaper.

The chest looks great! I especially like the sliding/removable tray. What will you use to finish it?

We are in Central Indiana right now, just west of Indianapolis, we are moving back down to southern Indiana where we both are from and our families are at. We were up here for my wifes medical school and residency so we have been waiting for this day for 7 years!
and thanks! the chest is mahogany with ebony plugs and the sliding box is cedar.

Thanks! Its a Greene and Greene inspired box (if you google him you will see his style. There is also a house in CA called the gamble house where the company completely decorated the interior... quite the house. Its a big much for my liking in a house lol but its definitely gorgeous to look at.

Well dang those bottom ones look beefy compared to mine lol... looks like I sorta cheated death. Mine arent quite as bad as the top but definitely not as strong as the bottom. I will be using a spray gun and putting on dark stain and then putting a lacquer finish on it. I will post pictures when that is finished. (The cedar will not be stained or lacquered)

We've got one particular feller on here that I will not be offering advice to anymore, as he completely ignored me. Since then a couple of people have suggested the same thing to him as a method of repair. It really boggles my mind when these guys completely bypass methodical approaches, repeatedly.
