I'm running XP on this one!

Using VirtualBox to load an XP VM. It's the only way I can run the CD shop manual for the Mustang. (It's a no-go on *anything* 64-bit.)

That is sad White. Aside from the loss of life, the rest of this kids life will be defined by what he did. If and when you find out what prompted this let us know. Is this your town?

Ohio... I assume you've tried to run it in compatibility mode too? I've been able to get some 32 bit only programs, such as an old version of Corel Ventura, to run as Windows 95.

Different town... same county. I could be there in a matter of minutes.

The unfortunate thing is, there is one brother that is away in college and he found out via social media.

Senseless losses, White. And who would post such a thing on social media without all the family already notified?

I tried compatibility mode, but it wouldn't install no matter what mode I tried. This was a PITA, but it works.

Social media? That's the epitome of "that sucks".

I don't have any use for the likes of twitter (or facebook) but I've learned from what's said about it, there's often a perverse sense of celebrity with getting something out first. I imagine if the person that thoughtlessly posted this is confronted about what they've done their response would be, "I didn't know." That implies they didn't think about what they were doing. Without thinking it's just a self centered act. Way too much of that going on.
