Rivers,,,,I just did another search and found numerous 2003's, Canadian, all with 2 codes VIN. Lots of 18
Funny though, I didn't think it was you. I was doing warranrty for Ford then, and being here in AK, we got a lot of the GEN 10's from Ontario Hell, both my F150;s are Canadian made too. LOL I actually toured that plant in 2001 when I was at a school for 11 days back then. That was an eye opener for an old Alaskan at that time, lol.
Lots of 18 bodies listed. Lots of Lightning's too.
AK, my apologies. At the time JP and I were discussing anomalies in our trucks that didn't fit the model year of our trucks. (A lot of my Sept. 98 truck titled as a 99 is 98 parts, like the gas tank which is when I first started looking in to changing my gas tank.) I went to Ford and found out they were going to finally close the Ontario Truck Plant in 2000 after numerous delays IIRC but didn't close until 03\04 when it went through extensive renovations and became the Oakville Assembly Plant and produced the Edge, Flex and Lincolns. Ford history said the last truck to come out of the plant was the Heritage Edition, not to be confused with the Heritage, which was a 2003 truck with trim and option changes and dated as a 2004. The last truck prior to this was the Lighting. Also in the last couple of years a limited number of F150's, (might have all been limited to 4 doors(?)), because of inventory issues and IIRC to honor some union employee manning agreements having to do with temporary closings because of the changes being made to the plant. I don't remember what all I learned at the time or what all I wrote but I did edit out a lot of the info I picked up like the union agreements. Anyway, the post was about sharing info with JP and I sure didn't swear up and down about anything but this is what I thought you were referring too. Again, my apologies if I mistook the target of your post.
Do any of you guys know where I can find the felt tape that Ford used along the edges of some interior panels to prevent them from squeaking when rubbing/flexing together? eBay has a plethora of "multi-purpose" felt tapes that also mention wiring harnesses, so I'm picturing Tesa tape which is quite thin (and not what I want). Or.... is it?
I used to have some for my old job at work. I know where I bought it, but they don't sell to the public. I'll see if there is a brand on the roll.... if it's still kicking around.
Thanks, White. I'll check them out. Moleskin isn't a bad idea, though, since I shouldn't need a whole bunch of it. The center console in the Mustang squeaks. It's the only squeak/rattle in the whole car (believe it or not), and has begun to really bug me. Kind of like the intermittent rattle in the truck's sunroof that I just can't seem to find/fix.
Welp.... over the Thanksgiving weekend, we had all of those storms which resulted in a lot of power failures, brownouts, etc. So I've spent the last 2 days replacing electrical and electronic components. Still have more to go too.... I've got two PLC's I've got to send out for repairs too. Been a rough week so far.
