White, just a curious question but how many times have you had the engine in and out of the Mustang?

I have a new next door neighbor and their son just bought a chevy pickup for a painting business he's starting but he needs to replace the engine. He's talking about an old 327 or 350 which I don't think his truck, early 2000's, ever came with. I tried to talk him out of it because of the added time involved if he's trying to start a business and needs the truck now. How many times I've had the new engine in and out came up preparing for my swap and I think he thought I was wasting time. Tried to explain to him ,"far from it." So from following what I have about your Mustang I'm just curious. Anyone else feel free to jump in.

Interesting... have you ever replaced the pump? Sounds like you suspect a flow issue.

I havent replaced the pump but that was another thought I had. It just looks quite involved as well lol. cramming that V6 in there really makes things tight. 244,000 miles probably wouldnt hurt to put a new one in i guess. Probably still less annoying than a heat core swap.
I was praying it was something that simple but everything Ive read says my escape year didnt have a heater control valve (and looking over the engine i couldnt find anything that looks like it so i agree with the statement). I think the 4 cylinders did but not the V6. I say the 4 cylinders cz they show up on autozone but when i specify the V6 it says none of them fit.

LOL Now I understand where White came up with the Escape question. Thought he was referring to and meaning my Edge by my previous post to his question.

Did you change the radiator when you swapped engines? I wonder if the radiator is cavitating from excessive flow for its size? if so, the 4 cyl valve may fix it????

I've worked on the 2.3 and 3.0 and neither have the heater bypass valve.

There was not a motor swap done either, Rivers.

Do you have an electric or hydraulic fan? Does your scanner check either to see if they're running right?
